So, did anyone reprezent for ATL at the Shootout?

I was just curious. I heard that a lot of people were going there to race from Atlanta, but I haven't been able to find any results on anyone from ATL. Was it AMS or AL that won? and the fastest STI was like 11.9 (weak sauce )? We were going to try to go, but we were short a tech. and backed up out of the wazoo.

Someone give me the scoop.

Did that guy Dan end up making it with the STI? Did you get your Evo finished up and just couldn't make it or is it still in the works?

Dan did not go and run as the car needs some miles on it to break in the engine. As for our evo it was not finished in time for the event. We really wanted to make it but, just have too much work in the shop right now and not enough time to work on our on cars. Like you we are also looking for some help but its extremely hard finding someone that is qualified enough to do so.

Cool! Well sux ya'll couldn't make it. Val had just posted on IA that ya'll were working on the car for the shootout a couple of weeks ago and I thought that ya'll would have been able to make it. Oh well, I think there is another one soon. Maybe we'll both be able to make it to that one. When is it BTW. I couldn't find the dates.

We work on ours after hours and on Sundays and holidays! I swear I live here. Good thing we have a shower and a futon at the shop because half of the time we sleep here . Our car has been finished for a while now...we just didn't have anyone to babsit the shop while we were gone. Brandon is from Norwalk and he would have had a fit if we would have went without him.

Badazzcar,

I've heard about you before. I heard you are the best tuner in ATL. I bet that EVO you're working on is gonna be the fastest around. I can't wait to see it and maybe ride in it. I am patient and understand that perfection takes time. Hopefully it will be done in a month when I'm home. Keep that dyno busy. DO IT!

tracy,

stock intake manifold or exhaust or both? what turbo are u running with stock manifolds and getting all that power? are you spraying on a stock block? i've never seen that much power on so many stock parts. can you fill us in? i think we missing something and you're on to it.

I have both stock manifolds. I have a GT35R kit that my boyfriend put together. I am not spraying anything at the moment. When I was on the stock turbo we were spraying methanol up to 393 AWHP. Once we got to the 435 AWHP on the stock turbo, we had stopped spraying the methanol (we are thinking about going back to the methanol on pump gas...but Dan hasn't decided on that yet). Dan just did some tweaking with the A/F and tightened down the wastegate to hold more boost. I think there was a leak previously on the 393 HP and once Dan found that and fixed it we made more power.

I could be biased since Dan is my boyfriend, but I think the power that we are making has to do with the tuning and the combonation of parts that we chose. I'm not sure if you saw the other links to the build up of the car, but here they are:

We have a built motor and head for the car, we are just going to wait to see how long the stock one will last before we put that together on the car. We are gong to test the longevity of the kit that we made. Since I daily drive the car, we want to find out how reliable it will be for the everyday driver

If you ever want to come check out the car when you get back in town...please feel free. We'd love to have ya!
