Pictures and Results from SC Region Event

Despite a last min change in venue, 5 Evo's and a Lancer OZ showed up to take on the challenge of the SC Region MS Society Charity Autocross at White Knoll.. errr make that Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, SC.

Of the six competitors from the evolutionm forums, the highlights included three class wins, fast time PAX, and FTD.

Four of the Evo's that showed up. (From Left to right it is ou812, 8thWonder, EazyEVo, and pedalpusher.)

Solo Evo would be king for the day of both the Evo's and the entire 80+ car field taking the class win in A-Stock and Fastest Time of the Day. 8thWonder finished in fourth place in A-Stock, which wasn't a bad showing for his first ever autocross.

Solo Evo on his way to FTD and the class win in A-Stock

In E-Street Prepared, pedalpusher took some time of from his normal routine of tracking the car to take the win, with ou812 following in third place.

pedalpusher on his way to first place in ESP piloting his Evo.

Street Mod was the spot for the third win by an evo on the day, with EazyEVo coming bck from nearly a year off to borrow some tires from ou812 and dominate the class.

EazyEVo pushing his car, and ou812's sidewalls, to the limit.

The first time experience was continued with SLVROZ 03 bringing out his Lancer OZ to fight the battle in STS, where he finished fourth.

SLVROZ 03 (above) and 8thWonder (below) had good showings for their first autocrosses.

In sort of an Ironic twist, I helped organize all the Lancer's to come out.. and other than some "instructional" runs in 8thWonder's car, I competed in an STi in Pro Street Mod, where I was caught out by the rain and finished 4th.. it is fun driving these AWD cars in the rain.. but only when all of your competitors also run in the rain.

Here I am, traitor or double agent, (you pick) testing the brakes of the STi..

Hopefully as 2006 rolls around, we can see a lot more Evos out playing at autocrosses in the Southeast.

Awesome pics Jon! Right on! Awesome show up despite the last minute change. Perhaps we can get more competitors next time and maybe I can get some of my own auto-x tread!

Major props to Jon for getting 8thwonder and I in a little after registration and major props to ou812 for letting me use his all-season tread!

True, true. Speaking of tread, I had to reorganize my list of things-to-buy-for-the-Evo and put as a must have some daily driver tires and rims. Time to put the stockers up for auto-x/track use only!

I thought you were going to check and see what was going on at the homefront for that day and call me back Friday night. When I didn't hear from you, I figured that you were tied up or something came up. EazyEvo & I were both wondering if you might make it.

Yeah , I got a little "teary eyed" putting that 3rd place trophy on the fireplace mantle . Once we work out the suspension kinks (needs 4 knuckes and 4 upper control arms ) along with tires that don't have a 360 treadwear rating , it will be interesting next season for the eclipse .

The best part about those times is that besides tires and a cat back SoloEvo's car is stock.....
