It is a non criminal Federal Citation. It is federal becuase of the enviromental issue. Standard police can't issue a ticket for Non Cat tho. Only DOT. They are usually to busy pulling over large trucks.

I don't like running "cats"as it's very cruel, maybe an occasional squirrel if they're stupid enough to run out in front of me, but definitely no cats, besides, they're kind of big you know!

 

Oh, and BTW, I've been pulled over about 8-10 times now in the Evo (haven't gotten a ticket yet) and not one time did a cop ask if I had a cat in the car, they asked me a lot of other questions, but never about cats.

 

Sorry, I couldn't resist! You shouldn't have any issues with Johnny law down here in FL in regards to an open exhaust. I've been running one for almost two years now. I've been pulled over 8-10 X's as stated and NEVER been asked about any part of the car. All the cops I've dealt w/ were very decent and didn't seem interested in the car at all, including the tint (of course I always put all my windows down when stopped). I wouldn't worry about it!
