What's going on guys? Me and a bunch of my buddies with V8s and some other cars are heading to Darlington tonight to run on the 1/4 mile. I just got a new clutch in my car so i want to see what kinda times i'm putting down. We are going tonight and then another group of cars are going next wednesday also. I thought Wednesdays were test & tune for the big boys? Always hard to get runs on Wednesday nights. How was it? I heard Friday night was the time to go when they let the "regular" people run.

 

When is the next trip on this? I would love to go if we can get some evos together.

Yeah they did have the "big boys" there. But it was also test and tune for street cars. Honestly their track sucks. It was the first time I took the evo to the 1/4. I was kinda depressed on my times but i know i could definitely do better. My mods are TBE with no cat, K&N cone filter, LICP, walbro 255, mbc at 1.5 bar, Act 6 puck unpsrung clutch with fidanza flywheel which i just got 500 miles on it 2 days before i went to the track, and a ****ty *** mail in dynoflash with my AEM Uego reading a 10.0 a/f ratio at redline in every gear. So now to my times, in the right lane i ran back to back 13.0s at 106 and 107 with a 1.88 & 1.98 60 fts. I'm still trying to get used to this clutch, but in the right lane i would actually wheel hop a little which is no good, then bog down to like 3500 then take off. Now in the left lane i would spin all the way through first and knocked off 2, 1.85 60 fts but when i would go to slam 2nd gear i was getting locked out. Both damn times in the left lane i would spin then get locked out of second then finally get it in gear and ran 2 13.5s at 107 and 105. I'm going to practice launching and try and get used to this clutch a little more and i'll throw some new spark plugs in and probably take my jack and spare tire and stuff out for the hell of it. I really want to knock off a mid to high 12 before i get the car tuned in 2 weeks. So if you guys want to set something up for next week, that would be awesome. Like i said we have a bunch of local guys heading down there but it would be cool to get a bunch of evos together at the track. I think they open the gates at 5 and run till 11pm. Yeah lets definitely try and set something up for next week, later.

I've never actually run that track before, but it's actually brand new. It was re-done last year. I think it's better than Jackson though, imo. When Gemini and I went it had just re-opened. Sounds like they didn't prep one of those lanes properly. If you guys plan on going then I may roll down there too. I'm not going to run though.

I see you own an awd Eclipse, so how were trying to launch on that ACT?
