Where to get aftermarket work done around Raleigh NC?
I can tell you where NOT to go , its off of Captal blvd going into downtown on the right . They do less than "Phan-tastic" work .
The dealer put mine in , but if ihad to do it again i would go to Hickory or see if anyone in fayetteville is up for it .

Yeah hit martin D up... I have personally done 2 IX clutches... and another one of our friends has done about 10 evo viii clutches... we are all technicians... so we could help you out for a fair price.
On the plus side maybe you can talk them into giving you a few windshield decals for free.Edit: You know now that i think about it Phantasm has always seemed like a joke to me, mostly because of all their decals i see on '88 accords around Raleigh. What is it really about those guys that everybody doesn't like though appart from the Ricey vibe? Do they have a history of bad workmanship or high prices or something?

I used to get alignments done at Phantasm when I had my Honda...I was never disappointed with the service as far as that goes. They were one of the only shops that was willing/able to do an alignment on a lowered car, at least when I was looking. I never had anything else done there, so I can't comment on any of their other services or workmanship...

you can do an alignment on anything lowered or not pretty much anywhere... i have to take my bumper off to do an alignment on my car at work... but that is jsut b/c of the kind of machine it is. Phantasm is garbage.. plain and simple... their "Tuner" has blown up a evo 3 times and a supra twice of someone i personally know.... they try to talk down to everyone that comes in like they are the best at what they do and i have been around raleigh a long time and have NEVER..NEVER seen a car they have done or worked on that was fast... they have one 2.3 big turbo evo that stays blown up.. they bought from a guy i know like it is. then all you have to do is look in the parking lot and see they kind of clients they have.. ALL BULL****...
Well before it turns into a flame Phantasm thread..
Thanks for the replies so far. To be completely honest I am not able to get the clutch replacement done currently because we are getting ready to move and trying not to spend any money. Hopefully after we move I will be able to get the work done ASAP.
I miss the good ol' barter days. I build a web site, write a program, etc.. and get something in return.

That may be true now, but I was rejected by several local shops, including Leith Honda, after I dropped my Civic (it was not slammed, just a tasteful drop) several years ago. I know they could have done it, but there is a difference between "can do" and "willing to do"...
But the BEST part , they didnt tighten the right front strut bolts to the spindle and one came off on 40hwy runing 70mph on the on-ramp
it took us 3hrs to find a dam bolt @11pm at night to fix it
So yeah Phagntazum FTMFL !!
Here in Fayetteville, I took my IX MR to a shop called American Transmission. They initially charged me $550.00 but there were some complications so I ended up paying $650 because of extra labor. If your clutch isn't torn up like mine (they gave me back my old one) you'll probably just pay $550 and that includes oil. H&H Does it for $690 and most other places do it for more usually. I'm not really recommending anyone, because either way you'll pay a lot of money. I just thought I'd put in my two cents.
