Life in Florida qu

Looking to move to Florida sometime next year and had a couple quick questions.

- what are the tint laws?
- do you need to run a front license plate?
- how picky is the law with loud exhausts?
- are all the interstates 70mph?

- anyone got a lead on a good IT job for me; lol!

1. depends on the cop
2. No front plate needed, you can also run a test pipe (no emissions test)
3. again depends on the cop
4. 70 is fine. general rule of thumb, is to keep it under 85 anymore and cops will definetely be after your ***, lol.
5. no sorry

my turn now.... what part of florida are you moving to? Orlando is the evo central

Rear and rear side glass unlimited. Front is about 15-20% max.

No front plates.

You would have to have a bored LEO or give them a good reason for an exhaust ticket. Catalytic converters are a FEDERAL law punishible by up to 5 years for tampering with a functioning catalytic converter.

Interstates 70.

Haha, what's up Boom? Sick of snow already? lol, or someone wants to drive Sebring Look up Tek Systems if your thinking of Tampa/Orlando area, they always have something. Jacksonville is cool too but too far from Homestead and Sebring, Same goes for Gainsville. I'd do either Tampa or Orlando living wise. As far as the track openings:

www.drivenasafl.com
www.chinmotorsports.com
www.safemotorsports.com
sfl.pca.org

all got their 08 sced's up. Sebring technically won't open full boar until after the 12 hours LeMans which is the third week of march so take your time

Only 10% of Evo's run Catalyic Converters in FL, not to mention other performance cars.

I ran 20% tint forever in tampa.
I ran no cat forever
The major Highway IE rt 75 or 275 limit is 70 other state roads like 54,56,19 ect are mostly 60mph but depends on the area. There are alot of Evo guys in O town. I met a few however the few I met where total fools hahaha no offence. But tuning an Evo with quite a few bolt ons with a SAFCII by "the way it feels" is not smart right? yea he said "no wideband dont need it I can tell im lean by the feel" um ok do what you will lmao this took place at mama B's where all teh 20 something Evo show up. other than that the rest of you were cool.

It'd be difficult for me to move down there and not be on a coast I think. Not saying I have the $$ to live on the beach, just being with a few minutes versus like 1.5hr in Orlando or whatever.

Kinda looking at 2 areas now; Tampa / Clearwater for one. Or on the opposite side near West Palm Beach where my girl is looking for a job later in the year (she knows someone there). Not sure about all the way down in Miami.
Hadn't looked in the Orlando area yet. I would think the tourists might get annoying??

Yeah, I'm looking out at about 4" of snow right now. I've never been much of a fan of the cold - so why stick around? I was here when the Cardinals & Rams won their respective sports; lol; so no need to stick around. I'm fustrated with only being able to do the things I really like 1/2 the year like Golf, Boating/Swimming, Driving events, generally being outside, etc. I own my house here, so it won't be a simple task to get moved.

TEK systems - I see them locally on jobsites too, I'll look into that; thanks.

Thanks. I know FL doesn't have a shortage of tracks, so no problem there. Where are a majority of the tracks located? Mostly central-ish or N? Btw, I'm pretty good at Sebring on Forza2 with the 996!

Oh, and ya don't have problems finding 93 octane right? When I was visiting a few weeks back it seemed plentiful. There's a few spots here in STL that have gotten rid of it - not sure why!
We went from St Petersburg over to West Palm. Btw, you turnpike isn't cheap!

If your into IT I would stick to the major cities.
Orlando, Tampa Bay, Miami, Jacksonville etc... and in no paticular order.

It also really depends on what you do in it.

Good luck!

1. Do not move here.

in all seriousness, from experience, if you're serious about moving down, make sure you have a good job in place, and money saved up. don't move here and expect to make it.

West Palm is a rly nice place. Lots of evos in Orlando though, good amount further south where I am in Boynton/West Palm.

Oh, and you'll miss the cold/snow lol

Thanks for the advice - it's all welcome. I won't be moving w/o a job in place. And I doubt I move to an area smaller than STL (rated between 18th-22nd largest city in US).

Realistically I'd like to make the move before next winter. I'm not rushing into it; it's been about a 2 year idea that I/we finally decided to make a reality before we get too old. And no, I'm not 50.
