My 1st 'Pro' drive...

Well, almost, but not really

I was asked by Grassroots Motorsports magazine to be one of the expert or pro drivers for their $2007 Challenge. This was a real honor (@ least to me) as they only choose top, national-level Solo drivers to be one of their 'hired guns'. I couldn't believe they asked me--I must have them fooled, thinking I can drive or something

Thought I'd share this w/ my FL Evo bretheren. Now fellas I expect special treatment from all of you from this point forward, as I'm now a real, bona fide bigshot & expect to be treated as such.....

Seriously, the article is in the new Feb issue & they gave the drivers some ink. Here I'm getting ready to do a run in a (soon-to-be-in-color-style, I'll bet) flat black RX-7...

Frankly, I drove the p!ss out of them--I felt that if they broke (luckily none did while I was driving), well, @ least the builders would know the car was pushed past its $2k limit...
It was so much fun--I felt like a **** star as people were coming up to me asking if I would please drive their car--a real ego boost
All of the other drivers other than Scott Lear who works for GRM (and is an excellent driver) were Solo National Champs. I was stoked to be doing the event!

A few of the cars were really works of art--as some probably had hundreds of man-hours in them--labor doesn't technically cost $$.

Thx guys!

Yeah that was my car & thanks again--although I'm not pleased overall w/ my time as my car was lifting the front (and maybe the rears) & I couldn't put the power down out of those really tight turns there @ the Moroso cart track

FWIW, the Vette that came in 2nd place in pax was a full 2 seconds (!) behind me @ the Sebring event--where I was able to put the power down better.

I've since put KWs on the car & lowered it quite a bit--so hopefully I'll have this problem behind me...
