your not going to like the idle on hks 280s

 

I think I will give them a shot and see how I like them. From what I have read, they actually perform very well if tuned good. I will also be purchasing cam gears to try to optimize them. I figure if they're free, there is no use in not giving them a shot, and I am sure Kasey can tune them out

Heads up fellas

 

those cams are made for big turbo, you going to lose your mid power and would have to rev really high to get the use out of them. If you got them for free just sell them and get other cams that will get you good mid and high power. think about it before you spend money on the install and tune them.

 

Tim, I do agree they are overkill, but i have tuned 4 or more cars with the HKS 280's and they are not as aggressive as everyone thinks they are. I use to have a set on a stock turbo and they made good power, and the car went 7.30 at 98.5 in the 8th on them.

This is what I hoping to hear. They only have a 10.8 mm and 10.2mm lift, which is the same as their 272. There was a user on there with the stock 8 turbo, bolt ons, cam gears, and a good tune that made over 400 whp. I am not looking to make that much right now, and as long as I don't lose to much low end, I think I will be happy. When I got my car, when it was stock besides a Greddy RS bov and Apexi intake, the car didn't spool fully until 4000 rpms(which is the fault of the BOV). I lived with that and 17 psi of max boost for almost 6 months...

Got there late on saturday, was still a good many evos still around but didn't see anyone from charlotte either. We didnt get my evo done in time.
