Best of luck to you... here in Fayetteville, they have gone to a policy, absolutely no settling out of court or knocking down tickets that are reckless anything or in excess of 20mph over to the typical equipment violation. You may be able to find a dyno and have them do a speedo cal.... if it is x amount out of tolerance, thay may help the lawyer out some.
sleeper i think your luck will be better than mine was since apparently they changed the law back in 2007 where if you get pulled for 100+ they can not drop the speed down any but as long as its 99 and below it can be knocked down some
My speeding ticket was 89 in a 65. My lawyer got the speeding ticket dropped, and I had to go to driving school (wtf) and they gave me a PFJ after I completed that. Could have been much worse, I was fortunate!

Within 20 minutes I had faxed the citation to my lawyer and sent him payment. He seems confident he can get the reckless dropped, it's 5 points, so I hope he can do it. Then he'll work on the speed and see if somehow he can get it so it doesn't affect my insurance. I've had good experience with my lawyer, he has had no less than 3 tickets outright dismissed, although I seriously doubt that will happen this time.
He'll try and work with a DA who will play ball, if not he'll just keep continuing the case until he sees a favorable situation.
