Hey everybody, what's up. Haven't been on the forum for a while. Good to see everybody doing well. I see there is some newer Evo owners here now and some of the older Evo owners still hanging around. I have had to sell my Evo for the short term. I will be getting another in the future though. I also have a highly secret (LOL) project in the works as well. This new project is not an Evo. It will be half the weight and about half the HP but may very well be faster than my previous Evo. I am gonna try and start coming back to some of the meets in the near future. Although without the Evo I probably will feel a little out of place. Hope to see and meet some of you soon.

Well it looks like I might be relocating to the Charlotte area in the next few months... Can someone please tell me if there are any Autocross events, Time Attack / HPDE events around Charlotte... What racing leagues and clubs are down there to participate in and how is the competition?

As far as I know, there isn't anything in Charlotte. I think it is all in Anderson, SC. I've been trying to autox here since 2008 and have never known when any events are.

 

Well thats not good. Do you know of any leagues or organizations that run down there? Who are the leagues that race in SC?

 

There is the THSCC, and the CCRSCCA, and you can always join the VIR Club for a good 44 track days a year.

Let me know if you go to any events, I would be interested in joining you.

Thanks man i appreciate it. The VIR club is awesome but way out of my league. Im looking for AutoX events like the SCCA or BMW or PCA clubs would host.. National or Pro events if they occur down there.

And any HPDE / Time Attack events like NASA or others in the area. I need to race next season and have no idea really where to start

 

Well, the NASA Southeast can be found here at bottom of page, and more info can be found on the direct site. There are also a few hill climbs, and the Maxton mile if you want to try something different.

What about Tuners and Shops. Who do you guys trust, who does great work, who is reliable?

 

While I've got a few shops 30 minutes away, I still drive the 3 hours to Force-Fed performance. They won't try to sell you what you don't need, and have very reasonable prices.
