I'm interested in purchasing a used '06 Evo MR from a dealer in Raleigh, NC. However, I live 4 hours away so I was hoping I could find someone that lived nearby that would be willing to check out the car to see if there was any reason not to buy it.

You looked kinda familiar to me when I saw you at the Fayetteville Hooters meet we had awhile back. Since you're at SS Mazda, do you ever eat at that McDonald's at the corner of Six Forks/Wake Forest Rd.? I used to work about a mile down Six Forks from there, and ate at Mickey D's all the time...maybe I saw you there.

To the OP, I'd be happy to look at the car for you. Maybe all the Raleigh guys can hook up and check it out...

I checked it out on my way home from work, the car looks really nice. Sorry, but i only spent about 5 minutes looking at it. I didn't stick around to talk to any sales reps so i didn't drive it or even look under the engine bay. Having said that, BRAND SPANKING NEW advans ftw. All the rims look great, the car looked like it had some very light scratches (may even buff out) in the rear dirver side fender and some other light scratches on the front passenger door area of the side skirt. interior was super clean except for some wear on the drivers seat.

Sorry i couldnt do more but i had somewhere to go, based on the quick glance i took at it i definitely think it's worth the trip if they give you a reasonable deal on it. Definitely check out the carfax. oh, and that other GG IX is mine, only 11k miles on it 100% stock and i'd sell it for the right price anywho, here's some pics with the ****ty point and shoot:

Thank you everyone for your willingness to check out the car. Obviously, the more people that check it out, the more confident I'll be with the purchase. So thank you in advance to anyone that checks it out as detailed as they're willing or able. I guess just reply on here or PM me with what you find out. The dealer replied via email "The sale price Is $27900 plus fees." Hopefully none of you buy it out from under my feet. If everything goes well, maybe I'll drive down to see you guys as I'm picking up my new car.

Edit: And as for the Carfax report... It's got the Carfax one owner buyback guarantee. The warranty should still be active. Purchased in Bridgewater, MA 08/06. Registered in Apex, NC 07/07 with 10k miles. Put on sale at the end of Feb. So looks pretty clean unless you guys know of some crazy underground racing circuits in Bridgewater or Apex. :~p

 

I say pick it up...if it was abused, somebody on here would know about it. Then again, bringing an Evo from MA to NC and offloading it, who knows...

Of course, according to Hollywood Insider, they are filming F&F4 in MA while concurrently filming the sequel, F&F5 in Apex, NC (rumored to be subtitled "Yuppies Love the Drift 'n' Drag"...
