Better check to see if the wall is even salvagable... take it to stage 6...or get with suprastar about the rebuild..either are good safe bets..anywhere else...at your risk.

I went to Stage 6 a while back and ask them about possibly putting a 2.3L stroker on it but i got the feeling that they do not want the job. Im still waiting for the quote from them. And how can contact suprastar? Thanks for the reply by the way!

It would ultimately depend on if the block was salvagable... If the block is not salvagable your best bet is to do a 2.4 long rod build...

And ya Stage 6 is usually pretty busy and most of the time they give alot of quotes with no seriousness behind it so after awhile they get that way.. have to show genuine interest. But like Freddie and I said.. have to make sure the block is still good.. a good enough cut into the cylinder wall will turn that puppy into a paperweight with a quickness....

Do you have an 8/9 or a X? What is your budget and what are you looking to spend including installation... even with a cheaper clutch you are still looking at around 1200 for parts, fluids and install...

damn. I got an 8. I'm looking at the act xtreme clutch kit. Is this good? I was actually looking to spend less than $1k. My clutch is grinding on high revs form 4th to 5th gear.

I guess this is a common problem with the evo looking around. can this be fixed by just changing the Tranny fluid? I changed mine about 10k miles ago with AMSoil 75W90.

Sounds more like might be syncros if it was clutch it would be doing it through all the gears and typically simply putting into 5th on the highway and punching it at low rpms if the rpm gauge just takes off but you go no where its the clutch.. how many miles on the trans?
