04ebevo, looks like where in the same boat. my clutch just started slipping as well. can anyone on here recomend a good clutch for my car. i currently have a act dont know which one because it was already on the car when i bought it. my mods are fp red, 4" ets intercooler, 850cc injectors, full piping, full exhaust, head work, valves, and so on you guys get the drift. I dont have hard numbers but i know its roughly around 450ish. If im going to get a clutch i might as well get a good one instead of doing the work couple months down the line again. im looking at the exedy twin disc or tilton but i think tilton is a little over kill. also looking into os ginken but i heard thats under exedy name so i guess its the same product different name. any recomendations??

Just gotta plan 1-2 weeks in advance. Gonna be in NJ next month for Atco race.

Evillancer06:: TTP's recommended clutch setup will do. I have had this ACT 2600 6 puck sprung with my mods over 2 years no issues. I just put a new disc in with new tranny last year Feb. cause it was out.

the clutch i have in there right now was from ttp. they guy that owned the car before me had a act installed from ttp dont know which one though. i bought the car in feb 07 and i dont know how long it has been in the car before i bought it. its weird though, it came out of no where. i never had like a warning or anything. just took it out one day and it crapped on me. i just want to put a clutch in there that will hold what i have plus whatever else i want to throw at it in the near future without it being overkill. dont know if thats possible but i hate doing work twice. if i gotta do the work than i might as well go all out and get the best for it.

We are using it in my own 2005 with 600whp/481tq MD. Holding up great.

You can tell Ron is a DSMr. 2600 is the lb pressure designation for the strong pressure plate version of the DSM ACT unit.

For the Evo the HD is about 2900 and the XT pressure plate is about 3250 lbs. They are also pull type instead of push type clutches.

The pressure plate we use in our ACT unit is an HD for light pedal feel yet the disc can hold massive 650tq.

It's not that the clutch is slipping it's just that I dont trust what the last owners did. 3-235 tires, 1-225 tire, not good on a AWD system. 2 studs were really messed up. Sparkplugs, corroded. Serpentine belt was a 5 tooth. Wait a second isnt the belt a 6 tooth. Yeah it was at one point and the idiot/idiots had it inboard on the alternator and outboard on the front. Probably not good for the bearings on the accesories. Lower timing belt cover was not secure. 60k miles without a timer on a moded car didnt do the turbo good. Front, side, back. It's like the turbo is backing that *** up. I saved this car front most certain death. I just hope it doesnt bite me in the ***. If I have TTP do the clutch I cant get it tuned because of the breakin. I dont feel like figuring it out myself at the hobby shop myself. Sorry for the rant guys.

I'd go if I wasn't in St. Augustine. Haven't seen any Evo's around here. Just at TTP yesterday.

There is no break in period needed for our version clutch. We go from the lift to the dyno or the lift to the track all the time.
