HELP , Im Stuck on I85

took the evo up to NC and broke down at exit 109 on I85 outside Duluth, GA. I was drivng along and all of a sudden i lost power and started to slow down. when i stopped in the median the car idled very roughly at ~400 rpm then died. started it back up and got 10.0 afrs at idle(tuned for 14-15) and sent black smoke out exhaust. tried to go fwd but could only accelerate to 15mph. checked plugs. all 4 looked really black 1 and 4 were completely black on the electrode while 2and 3 were shiny on the electrode. I have a feeling the 1/4 coil went bad... any ideas / help? im using my phone for web so pm me

Could be a bad boost leak. Maybe one of the IC pipes popped. Check them

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. If I were closer I would ride out and meet you. Worst case you can call Rick Case Mitsu off of Satellite Bld at the Pleasant Hill exit (800) 833 0129. Topspeed is in Alpharetta (678) 297-7770 but that's still a little far. Good luck man.

In that case... You've got a dead coil pack since that is unburnt fuel. If I lived in Georgia, I'd definitely be on the way to pick you up and swap out some parts on the side of the road.

hey guys, thanks for all the help. THIS is how its worked out sofar. I waited 2hrs for AAA to get a tow. once the car was up on the truck i went and found Rick Case Mitsu and got a hotel room .7mi away from the dealer. tomorrow im gonna go get some new plugs and a coil pack. If it works, then great. If not ill clean the MAF. If all fails then ill have it towed over to the dealer to have them troubleshoot it. all in all, thanks for the tips/advise/ride offers.
