RTP Area Installer

It's time.. I need to get myself a new clutch. Right now I am leaning towards a Quartermaster Twin but also looking at an Exedy. But before I go into that I was wondering if there is anyone around here that can give me some advice on an installer.

I really don't know much about working on cars and I learn by doing... but this is my daily driver and I don't want to get in over my head. Also I'd be willing to a weekend install with someone that knows what their doing and can hopefully teach me a thing or too. I am not opposed to putting in the grunt work or bringing the beers. ;-P

So the questions at hand.

1. Quartermaster vs Exedy
2. Installer vs Self-Install
3. If Installer, Who?

Thanks in advance!

if u have baller money get the quarter master... and hope the evo isnt your daily... very harsh engagement and chatters extrremely bad... exedy should be all you need unless you wanna put down over 550whp....

if you have a lil experience working on cars you can getby with the normal installs but a clutch you need to let an experienced person do... regardless of what everyone says on here... yeah they do them in the driveway but it takes 4 friggin guys to do it...

myself and crewdawg can do one in about 6-7 hours on the ground... i just put in my shep trans about 2 months ago in around 4 hrs at my shop... its up to you but it isnt an easy job.. if you wanted to tackle it at your place YOU HAVE TO HAVE air tools with a lil azz behind them but to each his own

Well to be honest I was hoping y'all would have time to hook me up!

As for the cluth cost I am trying
To stay under $2k.

This is the first of many mods I hope to do now that life is settling for me.

So you mentioned that if I have some money go with the QM.. but from what I can tell they are pretty close to the same price...

DEVO TUNING/QUARTERMASTER TWIN DISK CLUTCH FOR EVO 8,9 - $1,650.00
http://devotuning.com/store/index.ph...products_id=36

Exedy HD Twin Plate Clutch Kit (Evo) - $1,629.99
http://www.maperformance.com/exedy-h...h-kit-evo.html

Let me know if I am missing something though.. as I said I have a lot to learn, so it wouldn't surprise me.

As for hoping you would hook me up trust me I don't mean for free, of course I expect to pay you for your time.

Let's make it happen! I am going to dump the bones into a QM, I have read every thread I can find on this forum about it, and I am interested in being at least a little different.

Justin hook me up with a PM and let's make it happen yesterday!

Rock on! Can you give me the break down on the fluids I'll need for each?

I am pretty sold on the QM at the moment, but by the time I get prices back from the PMs I sent I might change my mind.

Consider it done then.

PM what your asking for the install so I know what else I can load up with.. Been eyeballing a couple exhausts too.

Figure if I am potentially going to need a tune might as well get a few parts if I can afford it. My budgets set but my imagination is only starting....

God I'd love to do all that. Not sure I have the budget but it's always easier to ask for forgiveness right? I was looking at a Walbro 255lph fuel pump. Seems like a pretty good investment for what $100 or so.
