edit....How many miles did you end up getting out of those tires??
If I remember right it was around 18-20k is what I got outta them. Why would people tell you no no on the Nitto's? They are a great tire if you ask me. Because of personal issues and money at the time, I couldn't buy another set when I needed tires. Thats not the case now and b4 it hits the track again this year, it'll have Nitto 555's.

They were awesome in the rain because the tread pattern kinda reminds you of an aquatread design in a way. I recommend all the way. They are hardly a snow tire but my hunting camp in pa I almost got stuck down in our drive in the snow. I deflated them to 20psi and it climbed outta the driveway which is like a 45 degree+ angle down into the camp. I was amazed I even got outta there.

I like the Yoko S-Drives. Had them on the Evo and now the bimmer.. pretty good balance of tire for the $$. Everyone kept saying to get the Yoko AD08's when I was looking and they got great reviews, but they were pretty pricey

A "budget" tire for a daily-driven Evo should be around $125-150/tire. Anything below that and, well, you get what you pay for. Anything above that and you may be spending more than you need. You can find good/great tires in the $150 range (assuming stock tire size on an VIII/IX). Kumho Ecsta SPT, Hankook Ventus Evo 12, General Exclaim, Yoko S-drive, some of the Nitto or Falken tires are a few examples of good tires in that price range. Are the as good as the stock Advans, probably not. But, they are damn close when it comes to performance and will be quieter and last longer.

Now, if you track your car or drag race, that's a whole different discussion

I've been running this set of Yoko S-Drives for two years now and I'm pleased with them (outside of a radial pull issue I have, but that can happen with any tire).

Decent, but not stunning, dry grip and GREAT in the wet. I got 11K out of my stock Advans...I've gotten 19K and counting from the S-Drives...

I paid $125 per tire...
