Umstead is pretty much one road in, one road out. Jason and I went and scouted it out and there are a couple of large parking lots with picnic areas. I believe we'll go for the parking lot that is at the very back. I'll go over there one night this week and try to figure out a better description for everyone.

Just wanted to give the EvoM guys a heads up that the meet this Sunday is looking strong. Several of the local X's are going, the Fayetteville crew is coming, and some guys from Charlotte are also supposed to be coming up. Should be a good time.

Just a heads up with regards to picnic tables. I believe you have to reserve them or be open to have some ask you to leave if they have it reserved.

Hey guys...unfortunately I won't be able to make the Sunday meet. My wife was just in a car accident this afternoon, and we will be dealing with the fallout from that.

We just got back from urgent care, and she's sore and stiff, but mostly okay.

Now we just have to wait to see if the Mazda's totalled or not...

I'm gonna swing by the park later and get some better directions for folks who aren't familiar w/ where the park is. I'll post them up tonight after I get back from soccer.

So after we used our credit card at the Urgent Care center yesterday afternoon, we get a call this morning from our credit card company letting us know that our card number was fraudulently used late last night for on-line purchases. We've cancelled it and requested a new one.

Ok folks, for those that aren't familiar w/ the area here are some specific directions to Umstead:

- From I40E take Exit 283 for I540E
- On I540E take Exit 4A for Hwy 70E towards Raleigh
- At the light, proceed straight through to Hwy 70 towards Raleigh
- Once on Hwy 70, drive .8 miles and take a right into William Umstead State Park.
- There is only one road in/out of Umstead. Drive .8 mi and you'll pass the visitor center on the right. Continue past the visitor center.
- Drive another .8 miles and the road will dead end into a parking lot. You will pass a parking lot on the left, drive past it and continue until the road dead ends into a parking lot. We'll try to have the meet here. If the parking lot were to be full (I highly doubt it) we'll move up to the other parking lot but that's highly unlikely.

**One thing to note, the speed limit in the park is 25. Please be respectful in the park. I don't want our group to get run out of the park for being reckless.

ahh good memories! I still think the largest gathering was the first meet I went to in the area at performance chasis 4 years ago. So many 8's and 9's and only 2-3 x's.

Haven't checked into this thread in a while....evidently I suck at life.
