Ali, if that guy in Michigan has an MR and is getting rid of his shocks. I'd take those.
He's parting out an 06 MR, get a hold of him, get the payments going if u guys agreed on something and i should be able to pick them up.

I will need a new hood and front fenders. The SRS bags never deployed (whew). No glass cracked nor was shattered. The door gaps remain perfect and the doors open and shut like they were new. The same goes for the trunk.
I had installed fender braces prior to this track event and I believe that they kept the front unibody frame from colapsing. There is minor unibody bending just above the headlight. I'll need to replace the headlights as well as the ACD unit. The Greddy FMIC appears to be in fine shape.
The insurance company was amazingly great. I didn't try to BS them with a story about "a deer jumped out in front of the car". I called them about 30 minutes after the shunt and they were most concerned that I was physically OK. I made it clear that I was at VIR and at a driver education session. They made sure a rollback was there within an hour. The next day they called me and recorded my description of the incident. After the taping was over I asked if I was still being covered and what would happen with my rates. They told me that I was still a customer and that I had an accident forgiveness chit I could use.
The body shop called me yesterday. They noticed that I had some carbon fiber attached and wanted to make certain that everything would be restored. Wow! So I will meet with them and go over any non-factory pieces that need to be replaced.
It is hard to believe how well this is turning out.

As far as a cookout at Performance Chassis goes - if it would be better to do it after Easter, let me know. Otherwise we are on for Sunday.

Jim
I'm glad to hear you are OK. As you know Hogpen is such a sensitive part of the track due to all the loading of the suspension. But man, when you nail that section it has such big payouts down the straight. I'm anxious to get back out to VIR and see how the new Evo X MR compares to my Evo 8.

I'm happy to hear that you'll be back on the track at some point. I would chalk it up as experience

Hey I don't drop in here often, maybe only when I have a problem... ;-P

But I just found 2 missing bolts on my DP going up to I assume my O2. I am wondering if that could be causing some of the weird issues I've been having? Also what size bolts and threads do I need to put in here.. Lastly do I need to get a new gasket? If so I assume that means I need to take off the whole DP to even check?

P.S. - Where is the meet next Sunday going to be?*

Yes Performance Chassis does brakes and sets up suspensions, too. I installed Swift Spec R springs, Whiteline kits and more on WeiYan's MR. We also do spec alignments. You want to corner fast in your Evo? We can do it for you.

I've used Project Mu Blue pads on the3 street and I have heard that Satisfied GS pads are great for the street. Don't forget that the most important part is your rotors. Tire Rack has some cadmium Brembos that are slotted (forget drilled especially if you track) that are great. Add a flush of the fluid for some Ate Blue and you will have excellent brakes on the street. Change to some track pads for those track days.

I have spare downpipe to O2 housing bolts that include the springs. Chances are that your O2 gasket is still there.

As far as the meet goes - I thought people would rather NOT do it
Easter Sunday. So I offered to do it next week on the 19th. If folks still want to do it Easter Sunday that is OK with me - Just figure out and LET ME KNOW!

I did my brakes a few weeks ago. I don't mind helping you if you want to do it

People can start showing up after 11:30 in the morning. I won't fire up the grill until at least noon and it takes about 45 minutes for it to get up to temp. So we can hang around and talk, etc. There is a big dumpster so trash shouldn't be a problem. I'll open up the shop so the restrooms will be available.

Any questions?

Jim
