NASA is holding their third HPDE (High Performance Drivers Education) @ Homestead raceway down in the Miami area the last weekend of May. This will be my first shakedown run of the "project" since I started it back in August. I invite you all to come out and play with your toys in your awesome FL weather. I'll be there the whole weekend so even if you stop by to say hello, all are welcome I'll be flying down to Ft. Myers on Thursday to prep the car and be in a hotel room friday night next to the track. Gate typically opens up at 7, so if you want a covered PIT spot, i'd suggest getting there around 6:30am at the latest - hence the hotel room fri night.

If you want to just hang out, there will be plenty of hardware there to check out and the Tower is open. It's Air Cond. and has stadium seating watching the track. Food stand is usually open around 11-1ish as well both days. Spectators I think 10$ at the door if your not a NASA member. There is a race both days but i'm just doing the lapping events to shake any bugs loose.

Requirements:

1. Register as early as possible, if its your first real track event you'll need an instructor, and they are limited in numbers.
2. SNELL 2000 or higher rated full face helmet. KamiSpeed has them in stock and ready to ship if you don't have one.
3. Car in good working order, especially the brakes and tires.

Recommended:

1. Sun Lotion
2. Chairs
3. Cooler stuffed with drinks
4. Tools to fix anything
5. Torque wrench and tire pressure gauge
6. CG Lock - to keep your butt in the seat.

Which hotel are you staying at and how far from the track is it?

There's like 3 I think, depends on which has a room for the cheapest. Most likely either Ramada or Best Western. They're 3-4 mins from the track.

FYI if anyone has questions or whatever, esp car setup, let me know. It boils down to how fast you want to go as to how much you'll have to spend....like usual Front racing pads and high temp brake fluid are good starting points.
