If you're looking for the closest dyno tuning, probably ATL.

I used to love the days dyno4mance was around in Calhoun, GA.... always had a pleasurable experience working with them until they closed their doors. :-(
There is an AWD Dyno here in Knoxville at Fastech Motorsports. Just recently had an EVO/DSM meet there last weekend and did Dyno pulls.

There is another AWD Dyno at Knoxville Performance & Dyno Center.

Also, there is OTT Motorsports in Clinton (between Knoxville and Oak Ridge) that has built a number of quick cars and is very familiar with the EVO/DSM/STi platform (built a nasty AMS EVO, wish I had pictures).

Can't forget about European Auto Garage in Knoxville either, they are a very reputable shop that has expanded their line of work from European hotties to other imports as well and they know how to take care of your car.

Yeppers, I hear they take good care of it too. We also have Top Gun Customz, which is like the AMS of lift kits but they do a lot of other great stuff for performance cars as well. They recently partnered with a local Chevy dealer to crank out some custom Camaros, the results came out looking great for a few $$$ more.

I'm sure if Andrew called Mark Remick we could still make something happen there with a we-tune group rate for a day.

The challenge is finding a time everyone could go and commit to a 7 hour round trip to Louisville.

Elevations are about the same as here.

Edit: And ask Mark if he will take the correction off the dyno he's applied.

Have any of you guys been tuned by Mellon? I'm considering making the trip to Knoxville to have them do my first basic bolt on tune. I've heard great reviews in the dyno area, and just wanted to see if any of us local to TN have used them to tune. I've just got IC piping, crushed MR BOV, Perrin intake, turbo-back exhaust and will be purchasing a Walbro and a wideband before I head out there.

Is Mellon going to meet you in Knoxville for a street tune? Otherwise I believe you mean you'll be traveling to Memphis where they are located.

A lot of folks on EvoM have had great things to say about Mellon, I would take a look at some of his tuning threads to get an idea of what to expect. I'd also take a look at the packages that are offered on the website, just so you're familiar with the up front costs and what to expect upon your arrival.

For a simple bolt on car, I probably wouldnt worry about mellon tuning it. He may indeed be great, I've talked to him once or twice.... seemed nice enough.

If you guys are looking for a good performance shop, check out custom concept motorsports, located in chattanooga,tn. http://customconceptmotorsports.com/
About a 2 hour drive from nashville, but well worth it in my opinion. The owner, George Aslinger, is a top notch guy and a friend. Treats every car he works on like its his own. he started out a mostly a Nissan 300zx/350z guru, but has recently worked on a couple r35 gtr's, 240s, and at least one evo x. They should be getting a awd dyno in the near future, but they do a great job with road tunes. Also, one of the part time tech's, Michael, is an old dsm guy, so they should be able to handle your 4g63 needs. They will be doing all the work on my evo.
I'm all about supporting a local shop... if there was one that was a full service shop. Hopefully they indeed get an AWD dyno and start getting more Evo experience.

Please let me know when you're gonna get your car and what shakes out. I want to get on the dyno, but don't think I can go that far.

In the few days that I've been here, I can honestly say this has been the most densely populated area with evos.
