FL tire question

For fellow FL Evo owners, what is best performance tire with the lowest treadwear? I know everyone's driving styles are different, but my Evo is my daily driver, I do not track it or drive it hard. Occasionally, I like to take some tight turns but thats about it (thats why I'm asking for the performance aspect). I'm looking to get at least 30k miles out of them.

I've had Nitto NT555's and my Neo Gen's are done after 10k miles. I love the handling of these tires but not dealing with the high treadwear & cost of them. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Something doesn't add up here. Both the tires you listed are rated from 280-300 tread wear, they should last you longer than 10k. You probably need an alignment and/or you are driving it harder than you realize.

I can get 10k miles out of a set of Dunlop Z1 Star Specs daily driving and autocrossing once a month and they are way softer (180 tread wear) than either of those tires you mentioned.

I do have it lowered with Tein-H tech springs. I had the tire shop check the alignment and they said it was fine. But the tires are not lasting.

I picked up Hanook Ventus Evo 11 Or something like that. They Handle really well and dont seem to have worn down at all.. Have had them since Nov and I DD evo 3-5 miles a day. Plus Got a deal for $500 installed. You could go for something with Higher treadwear, but where is the fun in that?

I put Potenza RE010-R on the car right after it was aligned by Robi and I got just over 20k miles out of them and they were very good overall but got a bit noisy towards end of life. And they would have went longer if not for the relatively extreme camber on my car. (yes I rotated them a few times).

I replaced them with Kumho ASX because I did not want to spend the money for the Star Specs. And the Kumho are not bad, but no where near the same grip as the RE010-R. BUT looking at the Potenza site, they don't make them anymore. I think I also paid about $500 installed and the Star Specs were about $750. Looking at Tire Rack the Star Specs have come down a little since then.

Bridgestone replaced the RE-01R with the RE-11s.

If you want something cheap that still provides great handling, you could get some 255/40/17Falken Rt-615s, but you'll only get 20k miles or so. I used to have them on my Evo VIII until I started to autocross.

I've also used Falken FK452s and Kumho ASX as DD tires and niether were bad, but it kind of makes the Evo a little less fun to drive.

I've had good luck with Nitto Invo's, I would highly recommend them.

i'm from miami, i know it sucks to spend so much money in tires but that's the point right?
10 k is really low for 180 tires unless you launch, break and corner hard like hell
my stocker last 16 k, i don't drive like a crazy but neither like a grampa.
i'm waiting for my Dunlop Z1 Star Specs. hope they last another 16 k.
don't install BS in your car, the dunlops are $200 each vs the $320 stockers and i had no bad comments about them, actually had a friend, in florida, first place in autoxs running the dunlops in a MR. best bang for the buck
