Notice on their website that most of their kill stories are from a roll of 20mph or more. Freeway racing in traffic and crap like that. From a roll the hp/weight an Evo will probably lose by a slight margin to both the SRT and Sti. Srt same hp and 300 pnds lighter and Sti 30 more ponies. Sounds like the SRT and Sti would be a close race from a roll. But from a dig an Srt can't take advantage of its weight to hp advantage. Spin, wheel hop,torque steer etc. get harder to control as the tq/hp increase. Sorry Srt owners w/o awd your mods are limited compared to the Evo/Sti and from a dig w/o slicks more hp/tq can actually hinder your ets. As both cars add hp/tq i think the Srt will fall further behind due to tractiion problems that render the car uncontrolable when launching. Slow4dr has a Srt and a vr-4 maybe he can give a better analysis then i can as i know nothing compared to him in this regard as he has a fast fwd and a sick fast awd.

 

who cares about racing in a str8 line! Monkeys can go in a straight line! Take it to an auto X and see who has a real sports car that can handle all conditions and still be fast doing so!

Street racing is stupid!

I WILL admit a modded SRT-4 can definantly have the potental to beat a stock evo in a straight line. It has a good motor, and it makes some wicked mph in a straight line!

But...The EVO is way more versatile! It can go pretty darn fast in a straight line, and it mops up everyone (including Z06's, vipers, and mustangs) on the auto x course!
I have seen it first hand!

p.s. I dont know why all these SRT guys around here are sooo hell bent on running me. Yea I talk trash about their cars. I will admit to that. ... I could care less about how fast a car can do in the 1/4 mile. It is boring to me! I'm not a 1/4 mile or a street race kid. I say bring it to an auto x and see who has the best all around sports car! Thats the real test! I think we already know the answer to that question!

 

I don't see how the SRT4 could beat an EVO on the road or track. The EVO is in a whole different class. The AWD, superb handling, brakes, etc. Will just eat the SRT4 alive..

However.... in a straight line like a 1/4 mile, it could definitely own the EVO. I had an Integra GSR with Jackson Racing Supercharger and no limited slip. It was way quicker than my WRX and my EVO in the 1/4 mile. Give respect where it's due, a car with lots more power to weight ratio will go faster in a straight line. Even with slippery street tires and terrible wheelspin, the GSR was 3/10s faster than my EVO with 3' cat back exhaust and 5/10s faster than the WRX with turbo back 3" exhaust. If I had DOT tires and a LSD, I would have been much quicker than that. I estimate the power of the GSR at 225 hp at the crank and it's weight at 2800 lbs.

The reason it can't beat the evo is traction. TOO much wheel spin. The evo is nearly a full second faster than the srt-4 on average. That is alot. And a straight line is the only thing it has a chance at, if you go to the twisties its over.

Some is ok but this site is being taken over by mother f'en drag racers.

 

I raced an srt-4 a couple of months I was stock and he said he was. We raced from 30 mph on the highway and 5 mph. Beat him good both times even though I missed 3rd from 5 mph. It's definately fast though. But the funny thing is when we had to stop ahead I hit the breaks and stopped incredibly fast, he was 2 cars back and rolled right by. But damn it the evo is more than just a straight line car, If I wanted something like that I would have gotten a cobra or even srt-4. Street racing is stupid, just not worth the consequences.

 

Some friend of a local SRT-4 guy talked all kinds of trash and said that SRT-4s can smoke Evos. Week later, I see the guy and asked him if he wanted to race. He ran away like a chicken wuss.

A stock E8 can run with a C5 vette. A SRT is not even the same league.

 

Well all i have to say is that the srt 4 is nice looking. has potential.For 20000 or somewhere around there is not bad put a big turbo in and some mods that are not priced more than 2000 bucks and im sure you can have a 13 sec or less car. while on the evo god dont get me started on the evo. it has the engine but the body way over priced. rather get a mercedes or a 300zx twin turbo and wipe all of you .for the moeny you spend on that god damn evo you can also get a nice skyline. worht the money. but in this case i will have to go with the guys from the skyline forums evos are over priced and just deserve to be in dirts and the awd a plus keep them of the 1/4 track. I am sure if you post this on a non evo site you will get a non biases answer. As for me i rather get the srt 4 and fix it up and spen less money. more power for your money. oh and if im going to get warned fu lol. haha jk

 

Put down the crack pipe dude, the 300zx TT will never own the EVO anywhere. Also, Except for a few outrageously priced models, no Mercedes is even close in performance to an EVO. You have to be trolling since your comments are so erroneous that even the most ignorant fool would not make them
