So I spent a week in Raleigh: My impressions
There is a scene in Raleigh. Everything is just really slow right now with the weather. Every Friday night, there is a meet at the Sonic on Western Blvd in Raleigh. Turbo Time has been coming out with their Subys. I have seen other Evolutions there. The number of ricers is very small, usually. However, the cops leave it alone. I have yet to see one cop, and I have been going for over a year.

It is still going on. Every Friday. I am trying to organize a "ride-out" for the Durham/Chapel Hill/Apex crowd. Then, there is always Cars and Coffee in Brier's Creek, which has a pretty decent turn-out, usually. There were two Gallardos out there last time I went and a hand full of GT-Rs. I can't recall the exact time and date, off hand. Someone mentioned a meet on Saturday mornings in Fayetteville. I am going to try and make it to that one.
Then, in March (23rd, 24th, and 25th), there is the Carolina DSM/EVO meet in Charlotte. That should be nice, as the weather will be warmer then.
There are other meets in Raleigh, as well. I can remember going to a few off Capital Blvd a while back. The cops ALWAYS show up to those, however.

Raleigh is a good area man, I really enjoyed living there. I lived there for a little over a year when Force-Fed & Spec-Ops were first starting up their shops. Cars & coffee is always a good time, up by Brier Creek. I lived right off Glenwood Ave, like 5-10 mins from Brier Creek & the airport. When I lived there I used to get a bunch of the Raleigh crew to meet at Hooters by the airport for UFC fights but I don't think they do that much anymore. Like mentioned above me Capital Blvd. has car meets but cops will show up. You will see by the Cars & Coffee events there are a lot of badass cars in the area that you don't see very often at all. Good luck in Raleigh Mr. Zilla!

Mikey I'm leaning towards shipping my car to Raleigh and driving over to you guys in Fayetteville to have you pull the xfercase and shipping it off to Shep, take the turbo off and sending it out to Precision for the 66 upgrade and retuning everything on E85 and get tuning on pump gas.
smurf, those meets in raleigh are all put on by friends of ours from ISO. they are putting some things together right now and we may help them out so ill be sure to let you know. We will start up our monthly meets as well soon when it starts to get a little warmer. Some of the Raleigh guys are trying to get with us on doing some weekend things around the different areas there as well.

do the cops there harass people and give out equipment tickets or are they pretty chill over there? Just curious because a buddy of mine is a cop over in Charlotte....I've never brought up the discussion about the car scene with him although he told me that there is a good enough scene down there to keep me entertained.
You have to be doing something OUTRAGEOUS to get an equipment ticket. The only one that I ever was made aware of was a ticket for running open-headers. Stupid Honda people.
That being said, I don't go to meets where cops are liable to show up, so I may not be the best person to ask. In fact...I can only ever remember going to one meet where that happened. Alas, it was off of Capital Blvd. Basically, the cops just told everyone to leave. Not much drama.

yea this weekend is wrong fitment crew. We were trying to get the 2JZ built in time for Zeb's Lexus but its just not enough time with waiting on the borg warner to get back from coating. We may go and take a couple cars with us to support them
