There is no doubt the weather is going to be ****ty. But I think that the roads are kept in check enough by the NCDOT that a few rally inspired vehicles can make it... If you have the right rubber, which I sure as hell don't so more fun for it.

Well with the weather today and into tomorrow, and the distance I would need to travel, I will have to bow out of this. I was really looking forward to this, but it just wont be realistic for me to do this with you guys. Good luck and stay safe to those who still attempt it.

 

Sorry guys I'm out too, I have nearly bald summer tires and I do not want to risk anything with my car, especially so far from home. Added to that my ex is really sick so I have to help her with the kids. Flu is going around like crazy here.

To those still going, have fun and be safe, it will be cold and icy up in the mountains tomorrow morning.

 

So whats the word guys? I can go but it is suppose to bad up there today and I am sure it will be bad tomorrow up there, but I am game!

 

That's what I like to here! I'm going to make every effort to make it tomorrow... even if it means I have to park at the top of the driveway instead of the warm garage.

If I can't make it, I will surely update this thread.... but it won't be because I didn't try.

 

I will definitely be there all weekend. Driving in there tonight and meeting you guys in Boone. I will be doing the drive back to the coast on Sunday.

 

let us know what the roads are like up there,i want to go but not digging driving on ice.

 

I made it here fine, had no issues at all on the roads minus pulling out of a gas station but that was partially me messing around. From what I saw around Boone, the roads were fantastic. I was doing the speed limit and had no issues at all.
