The third run was the best as I did not bog or missed shifts. All the other runs I had some trouble shifting, usually 2nd to 3rd

The second run was against a turbocharged RSX. Pretty fast car, his trap was quite faster than mine, but I dusted him anyways
The track was its usual slow self. The times I posted were among the fastest for street cars. there was a blue STi there too, but I think he was in the 14s I thought those were faster than that!

Is that a notoriously slow track? maybe the weather conditions were awful? I went 12.91@107 at Beech Bend before I had a full exhaust and all the Vishnu goodies. My goal next time out as the car sits right now is a 12.60@110mph on 93 octane. If the clutch doesn't give up, it should be fairly easy to attain.

Was Mark there as well? He and Ryan need to run my uncammed little Stage 1 car on the street before they get their custom tunes in GA.

Nice runs, I will say that I did run a 100 oct race gas map and had no cat on my run, again I am NOT slim and that does not help lol. Here are the specs on my 12.9 @ 108 run

RT .936
60' 1.929
330 5.457
1/8 8.333
MPH 87.97
1000 10.839
1/4 12.912
MPH 108.64

I am KILLING you by 5mph in the 1/8 that is HUGE. Get that thing on the dyno and tune it. Again if I get a 1.6 60' it will be mid 12's

Anyway, a lot of fun was had by all and the EVOs showed their stuff quite well Some ran and others "watched".
There were a couple of SRT4's there as well as lots of other cars. The Silver SRT4 ran a very respectable 13.7. It was supposedly stock.
The good news for me is that I managed a gain of 1.3 seconds off the ET and nearly 10 mph more trap speed than the last time I went to the dragstrip. The bad news is that my driving still sucks but with time I'm sure I can improve. my runs were with the street map, pump gas and 20 psi of boost. Next time I hope to have a race map for C16 as well as 3 psi more..... Anyway, I was the fastest EVO tonight, I still need to get some details worked out to beat Ryan's 12.9 second run, but I think I can do it

Thanks, I did get 2 more runs, but I bogged hoplessly and missed 2 shifts in the 4th one for a super lousy 14.3 @ 99 . The 5th and last run I managed to miss a 2nd to 3rd shift and got a 13.381 @ 105.12, after that I figured I was not going to do much better and stopped running I think my power is flattening out at the high end or perhaps my clutch is slipping a little bit. Anyway, I definitely need to look into the car's tune and I also need to work on my driving (that's probably the most important thing ). I do think that running higher boost and more aggressive timing & A/Fs will definitely allow me better times in the future.

The Commerce track is notoriously slow. Most ppl who drag race there and at Silver Dollar say that it's .5 seconds slower than Silver Dollar. I don't know because I've only raced at Commerce and the 1/8 mile track in Dallas georgia. The weather last night was not as bad as it can be in August, but it was hot and muggy. My times might not seem to impressive, but I was the fastest EVO last night by a fair amount even though my driving is not as good as it could be.....

1/4 mile

Hi, this is Ezio. -Silver EVO-GA tag "RALLY1". I ran 3 times this past friday. My 1st run 13.4 though I missed 4th gear 2nd run 13.8, totally messing up my start , but my last run I run I ran OK at 13.1 (9PM) silverevo ran the quickest.
Thing is that there were 4 '03 COBRAS all low to mid 13's exept a 12.4. Was talking to few guys and the V8's fear the EVO's hehehe. See ya guys. I'll be back up there in two weeks.

Re: 1/4 mile

There is always something faster, I ran into a twin turbo V8 mustang last night that does the 1/8 @ 110 MPH and the 1/4 at low 10's running 19PSI, that are cars faster then the evo on the street. Also this mustang sounds like a V6 untill the turbo's spool up.

Guys, I know there are faster cars than the EVO, but when a 4 cylinder 271 to 300+hp car runs with a V8,supercharged, 390+hp muscle car its pretty impressive.

Hi Ezio, you are right there man! Sometimes people just don't understand that all these numbers are relative. I'm with you, I think the EVOs did very good Friday night Our cars do have mods, but all the faster V8s with few exceptions are race cars! I'm glad there were several more EVOs there so we could all see that the low 13s that we were getting are really good times for that track in that particular day. BTW, I think the next time I'll just show up late and try to get a few runs after it cools down some. Those temps in the early evening are killer
Oh yeah, congrats on your 13.1, that's agreat time! I guess I'm gonna have to get better at driving or get me another 20 or 30 extra HP

hasta la vista!
