hey guys just wanted to see if any of you would like to test their driving skills at an autox at the gwinnett county fair grounds this sunday? the Porsche club is putting on an event and said we were more than welcome to come and run. let me know if anyone is interested.

 

what are some of the rules? like do we need helmets? or what? more details

 

yeah u have to have a helmet but they do have loaners there. they have most of the same rules as the SCCA.

What time does it start, and how do we get there?

 

it starts at 10a.m. GA time. i'll call up one of the porsche guys tonight to get some directions and try to have the posted by tomorrow.

 

well i dont know those rules, cause i have never autox but i would like to.

 

the rules r simple, u have to were a helmet, they will inspect ur car to make sure it is ok to run (lug nuts on tight, battery sucure...), u have to take everything out of the inside of ur car so that it dosen't get in the way of ur driving (floor mats, subs...). hope that helps.

here are the directions: Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. Directions: 85 north to Hwy. 316 north, exit Sugarloaf Pkwy., go right, proceed about 5 miles to the Fairgrounds on the left.

I might come by I live up the street for there Sunday hugh. Is anyone still going the Dave&Busters Gwinnett Place Mall on Saturday for the big car show at 2pm

and that show is on the 25th which is the same day as this, so i guess u have to decide to go to either or.

 

If autox starts at 10a.m., you still have time to go to the show/meet too!!! It starts at 2p.m.

 

ok here are the details: First cars should start at 10a.m. so tech will be open at 9a.m. there will be a $25 fee to run, u will get 6 runs. i also want people to know that this is being put on by the porsche club so all visitors will compete in one class unless there are alot of us. and for those who have not autoxed before u also have to work the course if u run. hopefully like Evo1 said we will still have time to go to the car show.
