AWD Driver Instruction Clinics Near Atlanta

Hey guys,
I met a bunch of you at a dyno day up at Subaru of Gwinnett, and a few others at Beaverun. It was a great group, thanks again for using us for that. Since then I have gotten enough requests to teach people how to drive their new AWD, turbocharged cars that I started Siegel Racing Driver Instruction Clinics. The last one was 6 new STi driver's at Talladega Gran Prix. We had a blast. Some of the comments are available on my site and on www.nasioc.com.The clinics will be offered at Talldega Gran Prix www.tgprace.com

For those that have not been there, this is one of the most fun, and more importantly, safest tracks in the southeast. It is classified as a motorcycle track, which means that there are no hard barriers to hit, just hundreds of feet of grass run-off. In addition to the safety, they have a beautiful 40+ foot WIDE, 300 foot skidpad. A skidpad is an invaluable tool for learning to balance a car.

Anyway, we have 2 stages, one for people with little to ZERO experience, understandably called Stage I. We only take 5-6 students and have a full 8 hours on the track. We only put 3 at a time "hot" on the track. This results in MORE than enough track time, most people have had enough by mid-afternoon, only the hardcore few continue running till the end, and they always feel that they got more than enough track time. The cost is $360-$400 each. This is not the cheapest track time you can get, it's a school, complete with materials and classroom sessions. We take 6 similar cars with driver's of similar experience, and it's $400 each.

Stage II is for people that have a solid grasp on vehicle dynamics and line theory. Some people prefer to take more than one Stage I school before going to the Stage II. Stage II is about the last few seconds of a available lap time. It should soon include Data Acquisition to really see what's going on. We can take up to 9 students for that and it's $300 each.

At the moment we are setting up an EVO and STi only Stage II clinic.

We provide a notebook with the basics of high performance driving, including driving techniques and car setup, lunch and drinks. To get an idea of a basic schedule please check out:

http://www.siegelracing.com/srdicsched.html

Many of our previous customers found that it was easier to get a weekday off of work than to get a weekend day off from the family. Thursday's have often been good. If not, we can do a Saturday event.

If anybody here is interested, please call or e-mail me directly.

Thanks,
Scott

Okay, we've got one coming together. It's an STi, an EVO 8, Cayenne Turbo, and a 911 TT. I need 2 more high powered awd cars for a Stage I school. Right now we're looking at maybe August 26th or 27th.

Drop me a line if you're interested.

It's definitely on for the 26th. We've got 1 or 2 more spots for anything awd and 220+ to wheels. We may be shooting video and pics for marketing if anybody wants some good footage of their cars. Maybe some in-car too.

Thanks,

I just got back from the track day with Scott and i can tell you that it was an absolute blast!!!

We learned so much about our cars and it was fun, if you have never been on the track you cannot imagine how fast the Evo can go in the turns!!!
The beautiful thing is that I was feeling always in control of the car and I learned a lot about its behaviour.
Scott you have been a very good teacher and I suggest to everybody to have this experience at least once!!!
Thank you Scott.

Yeah Scott is a great instructor. Can't wait for a stage II school.
Sounds like you had a good time. Any timed laps? How dit the STi and EVOs do vs the 911 TT?

We did not take any timed laps, we were taking advantage of Scott's knowledge up to the end.
Unfortunately the 911TT is still the car to beat on the racetrack...but on the street it is completely different

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and learned so much. Just to let everyone know, IHatePorsche is a track ANIMAL. I have never had a "first time on a road course" student that pushed so hard ALL day, and THEN wanted to practice his drag launches for the strip the next day. Animal I tell you

It was a blast to instruct a student with such a drive to learn. And he learned well, by the end of the day we were moving right along.

I'm going to make a seperate thread, but I'll drop it here too:

I know it's not much notice, but I have a few guys interested in an AWD Driver Clinic possibly as early as September 16th or 23rd.

If you're interested, drop me a line,
