Chapel Hill get together 8/19 @8:30pm
I along with some other members are game to meet at W.B. Yeates Pub in Chapel Hill this Thursday. The physical address of the Pub is 106 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, NC 27516. From Raleigh: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/m...030fb-cdbcf389
I figure this will be a good opportunity to have some "true sized pints" and reveal our tuning secrets and catch up in general. So those that are interested, reply accordingly

There's some that are re-flashed (me for now), some that are piggy-backed (you), and some that use a stand alone ecu (too pricey for me right now). Most guys run stock turbo's and internals. A few have done cams and gears. I know of one person who has done a turbo upgrade. I think most people in the know are following Buschur's Stage path to upgrades (Buschur has used the SAFC2 to tune and now uses the AEM EMS - stand alone ecu).
I'm doing the "requisite" Walbro 255 fuel pump after this weekend ($90 bucks shipped) and just have to figure out if I will go with something like the SAFC2 or a reflash of the factory ecu (i.e., Dynoflash "Fireball TTM").
I know that SAFC2 with my accompanying mods will be good for 310-320 wheel hp depending on the quality of the tune...

Cool! I'll see if I can stop by, if a recent refugee is welcome... just moved down from upstate NY.
Reignman, I've seen two other Evos in two weeks since arriving here, so one a week sounds about right. I'm in Apex, too.

BTW. I have seen some pretty high horsepower Evo's running off the SAFC so you should be ok with that. It wont give you the most power since you cant adjust timing but for the price its good and you can adjust it unlike the Dynoflash. The Dynoflash is good but I think its best if it can be dyno tuned.
Thanks! Black Evo, pretty much stock for the moment. Looks like there's a larger Evo population here than around Rochester.

BTW, I grabbed 60mph in "two" gears yesterday. I love the "Stage Rev" Dynoflash (no fuel cut, no boost taper, no speed governor, and increased rev limiter). The problem areas that I feel with my "****" while I drive is sluggishness in 2nd and 4th gears (relatively speaking). I know that the car is pig rich right now and leaning it out with a good tune should get rid of all the "flat spots" that I currently battle with. jmore:
My parents are in upstate NY aswell (East Amherst) right outside Buffalo, NY. So you're not too far from home with members of the CLC group. You got snow tires on your EVO, or what?
