Petite Le Mans

Anyone have plans to attend at Road Atlanta Sept. 22-25? I am debating on whether or not I want to pay the $45 fee ($55 at gate), but my brother wants me to go and meet up w/ other car guys. I just wanted to see if anyone has made plans to go...

I’ll be there each day. That and the USGP are yearly events for me. If you haven’t been to an ALMS race they are a great time. You get good access to the pits, the teams and drivers are cool, the cars are amazing and Road Atlanta is a good track for spectators. I highly recommend you give it a shot.

Best wishes,

Petit is a great time; lots of races to see, not just the ALMS. I am camping in turn 6 and 7, your welcome to come by for a beer.

Were you camped there last year? I remember talking to a guy who had a new white STi and I think it was somewhere around turn 6&7. I had only had the Evo for a month at the time.

I'm surprised that there have not been more responses to this post. Some of the best road racers this side of F-1 show up in our backyard and only three of us are going to see them? ALMS, Speed GT and Touring, Tonka Super Truck (like European semi racing) and Star Mazda series all in one weekend.

Best wishes,

I was there last year, same spot in 6 and 7. Didn't have the STi yet so it probably wasn't me. I agree it is kind of strange that people don't get as excited about local races especially Petit. I have the same problem getting people to join trackdays. Waking up to prototype V8s is sweet.... and you just got to love the smell of break dust in the morning.

I'll see ya out there.

I'll try and stop by and say hi. Look for the blue Evo with the IMSA sticker in the back window.

Best wishes,

No one else is going? I guess I'll post pics for all those who are to busy to go.

I put a link to my practice day pics in a thread that someone started in the Motorsports forum. To keep from doubling up, here is a link to that thread.

Petit Le Mans thread

I did see a silver Evo parked outside of turn 10B.

Best wishes,

I wish I could go. I have to work like a dog but it is a great race to watch live.
