fast and furious meet
I found this one, so so. I found Part 2 to e the most entertaining one, minus some annoying characters.
sigh... but this movie was a long time coming.
That said, JRP seemed busier then normal on Saturday morning lots of random guys off the street browsing around.

saw the movie on friday, thought it was okay...actually this is gonna sound weird but i thought there was too much talking in it haha...we all know this series isn't going to produce any oscar worthy acting in it and it seemed like there were too many sensitive parts and that they were kinda outta place for an FnF film haha, not really something i would except from them
i kept thinking about how they are tying these movies together too and i believe the way you explained it in your second point is how i believe the movie is being told...and the tokyo drift movie is actually happening during the second half of this movie and the first half of the next movie (because we all know there is gonna be another one)...if that makes any sense haha
after browsing around FnF threads all over the internet.. i have concluded with the thesis of how the timeline/story line might have been:
SPOILERS UP AHEAD:
The beginning scene (stealing gasoline): We see Han here. This is clearly pre 2006 Tokyo Drift. This scene is actually the "prequel" to this movie.
There is X number of years where Dom and the gang are M.I.A. and this is where it gets confusing a little bit:
- Did Dom go abroad during these missing years? Was part of this time spent in Japan? Recall the ending of Tokyo Drift, when Dom races that Southern accent dude who beat Drift king and took the title for himself.
- Or was the ending scene in Tokyo Drift AFTER what happened in this new FnF movie? I say this because having busted Dom out from prison (not technically in prison yet, but he was on his way), he would have brought even more heat on himself (if that's even possible to begin with). Dom knew there was no way he could stay in America, so he headed to Japan to find Han.
This would tie the FnF4 movie somewhat parallel to Tokyo Drift in terms of sequence, possibly occurring a bit earlier than Tokyo Drift.
Thoughts?

This is my take on the movie..
I think FnF4 is the prequel to Tokyo Drift and it is 5 years after Brian let Dom escape (per Mia, when she said "this is what you're gonna say to me after 5 years?"). A lotta people are saying it's a bit confusing since at the end of FnF2, when Brian said he's gonna open a garage with Rome, I think the garage thingy didn't happen and Brian decided to become an FBI agent instead since he did a good job bustin' Carter Verone.
FnF2 is pretty much a literal continuation of FnF1, Brian tryin to get outta LA and stumbled into Miami. I'd say everything that happened in FnF2 is within a year or 2 after he let Dom run away in LA, then FnF4 is 3 years after Verone got caught, which basically means a lotta things happened within 5 years. (Brian moving to Miami while Dom was in Mexico, then prolly Dom and the gang went to to Dom Rep and Brian became an FBI agent. And while they're all trying to find Braga, things are going down in Tokyo. And after Han died, Brian and Dom just captured Braga, which Dom get prosecuted and sentenced afterwards, then Brian and Mia rescued Dom and maybe was told to find Han and stay there only to find Han dead and just decided to race the new DK, Sean. (which means Dom could've been staying there for a good 3 months since he was able to put up a muscle car for the final scene in Tokyo Drift)

there had been many theories of how FnF4 comes before Tokyo Drift in the series. It makes sense, but if it was before tokyo drift, I still dont understand how he has a 09 STI!!!!
the way i see it, they're trirf to make it look likeFnF4 happened somewhere around late 2007-late 2008 (and this is where the lancers/evos and 09 STI came out) and FnF3 is somewhere in the future..they really never showed any dates or whatever that showed when these events happened specifically (if i'm not mistaken)..that's what i think..lol
they also probably didn't think it would be that big of a fuss...but weren't they wrong haha who knew hardcore car people would be watching this movie haha
