Lowering Springs : Progress or RRM?

Hey tehre guys, seeing that the summer is almost here and I've already done mostly everythign i can to the car, the last thing im missing is having the car lowered. (I had some second thoughts, like driving in winter or having to raise it again but seeing the comparison, I gotta do it LOL) Right now, Im just deciding between two different brands, and i've seen some people with the RRM springs and less with the progress. According to their page, they both offer 1.5 drop in the front and 1.4 in the rear.

Progress:

RRM:

Since the progress springs are cheaper, I'd like to go for them, seeing that they provide the same drop, but has anyone tried them? Or should I be safe and go with RRM? Any suggestions would be great, thanks guys! and see you today at the meet xD

Few questions.

1. What size wheels/rims are you running. They maybe affected by lowering

2. How low do you wanna go?

Dont be worried about been lowered and driving in the snow unless you have coilovers or slammed. I had teins on my old pro and it drove fine in winter with a 2" drop all around.

I havent seen much about progress springs but alot of people like the RRM springs and the drop gives the lancer a stock hieght look.

Dont forget that all those prices are in US and you will have to pay for shipping / exchange rates / and Brockerage fee's, so you are looking at +$250 CND. It may be cheaper to buy here in Canada and go for either Teins or Eibach and you know you are getting a good product.

Springs go for around $300 in Canada.

Personally I would go with either the Eibach Sportlines or Tein S-Tech. They give the best lookin drops and u never hear of people having any problems with them. I've seen a few people who had the RRM grip springs and changed them out pretty soon after they got them. I haven't personally had them istalled but I haven't heard many good things about them. You are looking at $350cdn for lowering springs sent up to Canada with shipping, duties, brokerage fee and exchange rate.

You can get the Sportlines from Tire Rack cheapest I've seen

Im actually running 18" wheels with tenzo rims. The tires are a bit wider (235 i believe?) htan the stock which is 215 or 225 (not sure). Well on that site, the tein s are only 30 bucks more, so i think id go with that instead? thanks for the help btw xD

Check out the Eibach Sportline 1.7"F and 1.2" R. Alot of people are going with them. They aren't as much drop as the Tein but still look sick IMO and they are a really good price thru Tire Rack.

I don't blame the shocks for that, my shocks went a good 6-7 months after I had already removed the Teins. homieG still has them on with no faults, and my boy in FLA has them on for about a year and a half consistently (No Winter) and they're just fine to this day. I just got the sh!tty end of the stick!

In Toronto, contact NextMod. Or other auto resellers and get yourself a set of Teins or Eibachs!

Eibach sportlines from TireRack $330 CND taxes/shipping/brockerage fees all paid. They have a nice site that shows you the shipping and brockerage fee included. So when the UPS guy shows up you pay nothing and he can leave the package there on your door, no waiting for 2nd and 3rd delievery attempts.

When you go through and purchase them they will send it from a location closest to the border so you wont even wait a week.

I'll only speak from my own experience on progress .......... they've been on my car for a while now (bought them used!) the only problem I had was a little vibration. I contacted Progress about it. 2-3 days later I received some isolators + tons of sticker ........ They never even asked me to pay for the shipping even though I'm in Canada (not to mention that I didn't tell them that I bought them used hehe)!!!!

For the thoughnest of the product, for anyone of you who drove the streets of Montreal knows pretty well our provincial government/City don't think potholes is an issue.......

Don't know about the new product but I trust the company 100%. Great products and customer service.

btw, I think that Progress DO makes the RRM ones. Only the RRM's are a little lower/stiffer if I'm not mistaken.

the KYB's ......... pretty good, got around 20 000km on them since and there stiffer than new.

As for the OEM ones, when I had the progress installed, they already had 80 000km on them. 3 of them started leaking let say 10 to 15k after I installed them. Normal wear if you ask me..... with a little push. Forgot to mention that at the same time I installed some 17" on 205/40
