your right.. the few things your mentioned have slowly started to die out, but the tuner scene will continue to grow in other ways.. right now I'd say everyone is still in the jdm craze.. at least the honda guys... You'll notice, most guys are dumping the 19" rims and big body kit look and going for more clean 18's or smaller with clean body lips, canards, diffusers ect... You still have the crazy decked out 100 000 dollar cars like that batman gmc suv (black one with like 10 000 lcd tvs.. (Im sure you most of you have seen it) The aftermarket industry still generates millions of dollars each year, just like anything though, trends and phases come and go so you will see events like import fest change over the years.

I agree with you it is insufficient for such a show as importfest but most of their criteria is overrated anyway but if somebody wants to spend $$$ on their ride to put it in a show, then have fun, but for this particular show its what they look for. She has actually won in other cars shows for what she has done, and far other cars were heavier modified and she still beat them out, and for that My hat is off.

See the stuff I did to my car recently I did for our track day. am I stupid for doing it all at once just for this, Of course, but I did it because I wanted to and in reality that's my decision and in terms of my ride, that's all that matters. And just by chance It'll be enough for me to get in to importfest this year.

I'm a passive member I can't come out to most meets because I have a night job as well as a day job and in these tough times, I can't pass up an opportunity to make money. That said, next time you have a West Side meet, I will try and come out, since MCCC meets on Thursday nights, so I'll stop by before I head over (provided I'm not working that night)
