You could cut your springs, alot of the old school civic guys do it.

I wouldn't do it on a newer car tho...

But hey, you wanted cheap!

Even suggesting that is stupid. Cut springs = bouncy failure!

It's the cheaper way!

And i clearly stated not to do it anyways.

Telling someone to hit pot hole, is stupid.
Giving a name of a shop to do the install + Alignment, is stupid.
Suggesting a shop to someone who wants to get something done cheap is stupid, the cheaper way would actually be a DIY. Springs are crazy easy to swap anyways.

Are you not going to comment on their posts?

My reply was actually the only real helpful post in this whole thread, other then absolute's second post.

man oh man, is this club full of knowledge

Sorry for going OT, OP.

Doesn't Megan or BC racing make a cheap set of coil overs for lancers?

It'll be ~900, It's a easy DIY (Heck, i can even help you out) and you won't have to worry about blown struts or camber limitations later on.

cheapest way is to just get springs and install yourself.

U can get Eibach sportlines shipped to ur door for $300. Only problem is that I give it maybe a year before ur struts blow and u need a camber kit eventually so u dont go thru rubber like crazy.
so really after u get springs, struts and a new camber kit, which u dont have to do all at one time just when ur stock ones give out it will be closer to what a set of coil overs would be.

and coil overs are pretty much the best way to do hieght mods to your car. Only thing is that if u get springs the ride will remain comfortable and with coil overs I've noticed a very stiff feel.

*that last part is is just my 2 cents*

Coil overs often at least have have Rebound / Compression dampening adjustment, simply soften the compression and the ride should be OEM like.

I say 'often' but really mean most, only the REALLY low end coil overs don't offer such adjustments.

I'd go for coils, and a DIY install, OP!
