He could've been doing what I do sometimes, speed up @ first to make the guy go up ahead so I can merge without people trying to block me off.

Yes.. the chassis are totally different, however the same principles apply.
I havn't done a heck of a lot of research into it but I'm guessing if the ralliart stuff dosn't bolt in.. which I'm guessing it wont beacuse (a. they have the same suspension as the evo)(b.the strut towers are positioned differently on the chassis)
You could use the awd rear end from the outlander like I did with my car.
Heck you could even use awd transmission from that.. I'm sure you could find a wrecked outlander for a couple grand and use all the parts you need. outlanders came in 5 or 6 speed manual... hmmm I can see it now.. srt4 engine from the caliber mated to outlander driveline.. almost 300hp and half the cost of an evo.... maybe a bit more then half if you have a shop do the work..
I thought you said in another post that the rear end of the outlander cannot handle too much power. How much power are you putting down for the rear of the outlander not to be able to take the power?

On my 03 were putting about 600 to the wheels. When your solely rwd 100% of the power transfer is going to the rear wheels. The weak point with the outlander I can see is the rear axles are pretty thin and I don't see them holing that type of power.

When your awd, power transfer is more like 65% to the front 35% to the rear so its not as much or a strain. Going with the Caliber srt4 engine with 300hp I dont see the outlander rear being a issue.

Right now were just speculating since we dont have the drivetrain in place, but according to the specs we should be on track.

Dixie has an awd sample on their parking lot. Looks identical to SE trim except rear awd badge and awd button.

It's because crapbox lancers are slow as ****.

I drive one and I still question myself to this day, why I even bought a lancer.

Has anybody tried the AWD Lancer? Is it any good? Is it like the other S-AWC cars that have multiple modes for the AWD system?

I have. Its good. The only thing holding it back are the tires. In bad weather, you are at the mercy of the Dunlop OE Tires.

It`s got the 2.4L In it, however, Still slow as hell. It`s not S-AWC like EVO and XLS, but AWD from the ES Outlander, and Endeavour.
