Hey guys found a company selling American Spec ecus was wondering if it would be worth it to pick one up and if it was able to just be plug and play with our canadian cars

i would get a real tune / reflash

spent 6 hours on the dyno proving the difference. mitsu head office says its tuned in a lazy way to meet environmental standards.

also pete from works can better explain their conclusions. on our dyno day, both the aem and injen cai showed zero gain. power showed up 150 km later lol.

mitsu says the ralliart and evo are exactly as they should be. canadian 4b11 is confirmed lazy

 

First, is it possible to get an ECU flash for our Lancers?

And second, if so, where in Toronto can we get it done?

in toronto i am not sure, but works (worksevo.com) has both a usa power tune and a eco tune for a decent price.

i think a few guys here got a usa reflash from a local.

 

Sorry for being a noob but i don't know what the difference between the Canadian ECU vs the US ECU? So the Canadian ECU doesn't read our mods or does it just take time for it to notice the mod. I actually had an issue with my exhaust, My car couldn't go pass 5000rpm when i had my HKS hi power exhaust. But since i took it off about a couple days later i noticed that the car is red lining once again. Does anyone know what the problem is? someone told me something about a rpm limiter on the car, but i wasn't too sure what that was or does.

Well, technically it could.
But the beauty of a flash is that no one necessarily has to know it's there.

 

Not a flash, but you can get a tune from Magnussun or ONIJDM.

 

For those with a Ralliart, take a look at the GST thread
All you need is a tactrix cable and laptop
Download the software and reflash takes 2 seconds

There is base flash and a flash with pill
Get the boost pill for $20 and you get more kick from your turbo

I have got it done and it's been treating me well so far

 

mitsu canada . defines it as any change to the factory config. (emission system and related components, so that includes the ecu, they told me that even a usa flash can potentially void it. its their polite way of saying dont mess with ur car. lol

 

weighing the options tho , so with the cdn spec it takes a bit for mods to kick in but they do kick in , so a us swap is kinda pointless , either way youd still be at the same point your at now , cdn spec and get a tune

what i want to know is tho , whats the deal with the rrm turbo kit not working on the cdn cars
