~~Official TLC 2010 Spring Buy
The Winter tire run was a great success and this has again increased our position to get great pricing on tires we are looking into for the spring. This will further compliment the Rims that are becoming available at the Gold Alliance dealerships, Scarborough, Maple, and Dixie. I have started an official dialog with Scarborough and going to sit down with Maple and Dixie Early January to finalize tires and prices.
For the spring buy, we are going to be looking at both Summer and all Season options. Two tires that are Certainly included are going to be the Conti DWS tire for superior All season Traction, and second, the General Tire Exclaim which has the extra bonus as being one of the lightest Summer Tires around.
I will be looking to hear recommendations for you guys, for a well rounded list of tires that we can go thru. Please feel free to share any suggestions so we can inquire directly with the Manufacturer to see if we can make a connection on availability and price.
I will update this original post when the numbers start coming thru. But I have listened to past feedback and alot of owners of older lancers has felt left out, so I will be sure to post the pricing for the more common spec older lancer sizes, as well as EVO X and Lancer prices of the current gen
Cheers

a tein coilover ket has been sent up, i am hoping it arrives by tomorrow, i will have that as well as hdrasta's progress bar on display.
in addition the vlip, dealership edition center diffuser (mat black, plastidipped, gloss), and iam hoping toget sample cf vinyl as well.
There are also so prototype items i will be looking for volenteers for, fog assembly + hid combo kits, and something a bit more high risk, a cross border turbo kit beta program for one brave lancer sole.
new website elements have been shown to a few members and i want to get wider feedback from all of you about these ideas and other suggestions you guys may have.
also a dialog has been started with evom which if granted will give us more independant authority over our marketplace and may formally wave the 50 post rule which has been requested.
there are a few other matters such as events for 2010 that need to be assigned fixed dates as well as potential spornsorship opportunities with vendors. Also i wanted to get back on the horse with an idea i floated out there 2 years ago, mobil 1 wishes to hear a well put together poposal from us on this matter as they figure out their sponsorship budget. I would like to see something like a meals on wheels effort or perhaps a themed food drive. If anyone wants to take this up please let me know.

I am highly eager to the Exclaim General Tire out there on our cars as a summer tire. Having a 5 to 6 pounds lighter per tire than the Dunlop tire, right off the bat that will give you an acceleration / power advantage. Couple that with a rim upgrade, shaving another 2 to 4 pounds will give a serious edge when it comes to hitting the drag strip at Cayuga next year
How come this isn't in the Tein thread??? Are you getting them for free? Who's testing it? Is it getting installed during winter so you can see the results of being left in during winter, or waiting for spring??? What the heck is going on!?!? More details plz... I want more info regarding this, even though I don't have a Lancer I still know people who aren't on forums that do.

Answering your questions....
I am not lowering my car. (Lancer) This Tein kit is destined for the dealerships, just resolving sticking issues with Dixie. Waiting to hear from BC Racing in regards to an evaluation kit. Tein remains confident that with proper TLC their kit will last.
There will be a spring Group buy set for May 1st, I likely it will include BC Racing Coilovers as well. What we are trying to do is move ahead so that we can have direct access to well priced Tein and BC Racing coilovers now for those who just cant wait. As soon as TurboTime and myself have time to meet up, we will let everyone fixed pricing

Since I am not familure with Older Lancer coilovers I will stick with Tein / BC racing opitions should they be available, but I will consult with others to find out what the optimal brand is in that respects.
So the dealerships will install this Tein kit on one of their cars? I want to see whoever gets it set it to the lowest setting, just to see what it looks like. I hope it goes to a member instead of a dealership, because I know they won't really play around with the settings like one of us would.

dealer will likely drop the car modestly, but since factory warranty is not affected, all warranties will be provided by the aftermarket manufacturer. Should someone buy the car, for a fee the car can be lowered or raised in line with the manufacturers guideline limits, safety and common sense in mind. The tein basics are the simple choice but a for advanced users the bc racing kit is an additional option
Well what exactly are they going to do with the set? Just have it in the showroom for show and not drive it? I really wish these would go to someone who would write a review, and not the dealership that will just install them and that's all. O well, would be interesting regardless to see a dealershop selling lancers with coils on them.

just focused on the lancer stuff right now, just a matter of time and resources. but as soon as the lancer stuff gets off the ground at the dealer level.
but for sure evo x options would be the logical step. but maybe too much for the dealership alll at once.
we will see. have to get dixies input

March Update
This week the prices will be unveiled for the Lancer and EVO X All Season tires.
Just like the winter Tire prices, these prices will be equally competitive. I did have to hold off on this because at the last minute Continental Corporate announced that they have released a 215/45/18 tire. Before this we had already confirmed a secure supply for 225/45/18. After doing more digging it appears that the 215/45/18 price is going to be more expensive then the 225/45/18 regardless of volume.
I have confirmed with both Mitsubishi USA (North America) and our affiliated Dealerships that a 225/45/18 meets the spec and does not impact the ratio by much.
There will be a discounted price for the tires if you purchase before April 10th (Saturday). Then the price rises to the normal price ( still very competitive and affordable)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All Season
The tire official tire endorced for the Mitsubishi Lancer and EVO X will be the Conti DWS All season tire. Its excellent handling, perfect tread life and affordable price make it the all in one solution. Until further notice only the dealerships will be selling the DWS tire. Other tires will be stocked by different dealers, its really dealers discretion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summer
In terms of Summer Tires we are looking into General Tire Exclaim tire as one of many Summer tires available for the club. We are looking into tires from Michelin Dunlop Conti and Bridgestone for the Potenza's.
So hang tight for the pricing. Again we are likely to go with the 225/45/18 size for the lancer since most if not all tires are cheaper vs. 215/45/18.
For the EVO X. although we will entertain alternative tire sizes we are likely to stick with the standard 245 /40/18 size.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Older Lancer support
Older Lancer support will be covered in this for both all season options and Summer rubber. the general tire exclaim is a great option.
More info to come.
