RRM Piggyback ECU

Anyone in Toronto running this?

http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/s...roducts_id=295

Seems pretty interesting and the fact it comes tunable by software as well intrigues me. Contemplating doing the ECU map for 91 octane to get a bit of a boost. Fuel economy increase as well so it sorta balances out in some ways.

Any opinions?

By custom tune you mean bringing to a place where they tune your ECU map based on the mods you have (or do dyno tuning)?

Any locations in the GTA you'd recommend?

Yeah I just kinda like the idea of being able to try out different parameters myself (especially around fuel grades) and have the option of going back easily (instead of paying for another ECU reflash).

I'd do research ahead of time of course and I don't mind learning more details about the processes and logic behind the ECU control unit. But from what I understand the stock mappings are fairly conservative and aimed toward fuel efficiency primarily before performance.

Obviously I'm not a professional tuner but I would like to find some more experiences of those who've done either route.

I was talking to somebody at Maple Mitsubishi about this. He says having a custom tune in itself won't void a warranty... but obviously if they determine the cause of a problem is your mod... then they won't cover it. They'll also charge you for any time that was spent investigating "the problem".

i have this , goes good along with the timing module , pulley, intake, exhaust , comes with all the software so you can bring it to a shop and they can tune it to the mods you have , good product from rrm , no cel at all ,they did their research on this

install is sooooo easy , but getting the ecu cover off is not easy lol
