So... Jan and I are on the market for some Hawk brake pads. So I contacted some shops and was working on getting some discounts if we order a large amount. I got some pads for the 08+ Evolution X, 08+ Lancer, and 09+ Lancer Ralliart.

Here is how it worked out.

Normal Price (tax-in, picked up, CAD)

For our group order, he says he can do the following discounts

10 sets: $10 off
15 sets: $15 off
If we can get even larger he says he will talk to their suppliers and get more discounts

From what I established from the talk, 1 set = 1 set of fronts, and front + rear = 2 sets so it should be able to hit 10 right?

I pulled these part numbers from the forums. If there is anything wrong PLEASE let me know. If you need any other Hawk Pads, like the Racing/Track ones, he says he can get prices for that - just didn't know how demand would be. Also other models like the previous gen and such you can join in too so just let me know what you'd like and I'll call 'em up.

Are you guys using these pads just for the street? I was about to order Hawk HPS pads as replacement pads for my EVO X... but then I saw this thread with people complaining about the HPS pads on the track.

Sorry... I don't wanna say don't buy Hawk HPS'. I'm just saying look at that thread. I have a friend who really liked HPS' on his heavily modified Audi S4 and he tracked his car a lot.

 

When you say $10 off for example... does that mean $10 off each pair of brake pads? Like $10 off the fronts and $10 off the backs?

 

I am interested. I drive a lancer so $95 front and back?

i believe $95 is for front only

 

i am tracking the evo x and the stoptech pads are doing the trick well in on oe rotors before we upgraded to dba rotors.

 

HPS is suitable for street use. It's not meant for track use
For track use HP+ is more suited for track use.

Jan and I plan on using the HP+ strictly for the track, and swap them in and out for the track days.

Regarding the question regarding the discount. Its per item. so $10 for front, and $10 for rear. (F&R counts as 2 sets )

 

Just for the front pads, I haven't found exact part number for the rears for the Lancer. Only for the "ES" if you have that. I can get a quote for it.

As soon as we get 10 sets, we will go through with it. Ideally I would like to get it done ASAP.

 

u guys are free to organize a buy on ur own if u can float it and get enough interested buyers. just ur both leading it the and seeing itthru thats fine. just be clear on price, time line and backup planning should something not go well.

 

Hmm... count me in for the HPS pads for the EVO X! I just priced them on TireRack... and it would cost me $300!!!

So huge savings to be had in this deal.
