Believe it or not, OSAP thinks your car is an asset and puts a value on it to determine how much student loan or grant you're eligible for.

Oh and welcome to the forums, I'm pretty new as well, lots of great, friendly and knowledgeable people around here. Just enjoy your car

^^^43K for a LANCER? Man you really got ripped!!!

I'm curious... how much does OSAP value a Lancer that's not even a year old? How much was purchase price?

Bingo.
I bought it for $28K OTR in December, I tried to lie about not having a car but a day later they sent me a letter with my car info (VIN, plate, the value, etc.)

They say its only worth $15K now.

HST sucks doesnt it? Congrats on the Lancer, Demo Status should be capped at 8,000k IMO, but look at the retail cost of a lancer with sun and sound, (dont know if you got S-CVT or Manual so give or take 1200) The Freight and PDI were dropped (i hope) and if so the price on the GTS could have been dropped, all in all you got an "OK" deal. Not stellar, but again, just enjoy your car, I dont wanna pay 26,000 for an EVO IX but i`ll have to bite the bullet and pony up the cash.

to add to the discussion, I paid $15, 700 OTR for my 2008 ES used from a previous Mitsubishi Dealership with sunroof, skirts, spoiler package with 25 clicks on it (bought the car in January 2010); I'm pretty satisfied with what I paid.
