Police Foundations isnt bad...just dont expect to be hired as a cop when you graduate.

You might see me around Ashtonbee every once in a while....I teach there!

Thats only if you DO get hired......... seriously your better of doing Computer Sci or Home Decor.

Lots of people take that stupid course, then they find out they have eye or hearing or physical problem somewhere they never knew about and can never become a Police Officer.

Better have a good backup plan.

rob dont listen to these guys, do what you want.

I didn't do police foundations but you can only benefit from it. I'm just going through my interviews now and as long as everything goes good I hope to be in the intake for aylmer in april.. but you never know.

Here is some advice from my perspective on the situation.

First questions you HAVE to ask yourself are

do I really want to be a cop?
If your not 100% sure, get into something else now because you WILL be wasting your time other wise. I've known many guys and girls who think thats what they want only to decide later its not really for them.

do you have any vision problems?
If you dont have 20/20 vision you need to go to an optometrist and have your eyes checked.
If you have a colour seeing deficiency your out of luck and better pick a new career.

do you have hearing problems?
Again if you find your hearing isn't up to par, you may want to have a test taken to make sure you can pass the police requirements.

If you have any infractions on your driving record or even a criminal record, again your going to be picking a new career.

I cant almost 100% guarantee that once you graduate from the program, you will not be immediately hired onto the force. You need to get some experience so if you can get a job in loss prevention maybe as an undercover in a retail store that is a huge plus.

Just to give you an idea, when I applied to peel, they said they have about 12 000 applicants each year while they only hire about 120 officers a year. You do the math.

Also as another recommendation, you better get going on your community service. It really helps if your an active member in the community.

I'm aware your in barrie so why not take PF in Orillia?

I dont know if your aware but I'm in barrie myself. If you want to chat pm me and will set something up.
