You don't need to goto the dealership... you just need to call Sirius Canada. If you don't have your ID number for your Sirius unit... you can give them your VIN and they'll be able to fix it for you.

If you renew your subscription before it runs out... you can just do it online. But once your subscription runs out... your account becomes "deactivated"... and you have to call in to have them re-activate it.

How many of you guys pay? I renewed it because I like Shade 45, Hip Hop channel and there's an old school hip hop channel as well. If you haven't tried it... Playboy Radio is also pretty amusing too.

Not sure if it's worth the cost tho... but it's better than the normal FM radio we have here.

^ I had the same problem when i had my VG shark fin installed. Dealer was going to charge me 1hr labour to remove it to find out if it was causing the problem.

Turns out it wasnt the antenna but the sirius module behind the glove box. They had to replace it under warranty. Hope this isnt the same problem you are having.

if you have already paid for the renewal, go to the website and go to manage your account.

find the option to reactivate, click it. run to your car then turn the radio on. channel should be 184. it will say updating, wait for several seconds and it should work.

I've always wondered... are there people out there who steal satellite radio? Like is it even possible to listen to sat radio without a paid subscription?

Sirius not working

Recently got an 08 MR (USDM) and wanted to activate the sirius radio. Signed up to a Sirius USA subscription (cheaper) but channel 184 does not even work (tried activating it multiple times). I figure its prolly a problem with the Sirius antenna/module in the car. I'm in Canada so no warranty, was wondering how much it was to replace the module if that were the problem so as to gage whether it is worth driving across the border to have the fix done under warranty or eat the cost at my local dealer.

^ Ill try see if i can find the invoice for my car.
You could try ebay or someone on this site. The module only works with the OEM radio so for anyone who went the aftermarket route they dont need it anymore.

Have you tried to locate this module in your car? it should be behind the glove box to the right.

Thanks Greedy, let me know how much it is fro the dealer. No I haven't tried locating it in my car as of yet, and not looked around for a used one either, if I could find a relatively inexpensive one that may be better than getting it warrantied across the border or buying it from the dealer at a most likely outrageous price. I don't see any other reason why even channel 184 doesn't work, seems like the module is broken
