I was considering painting them black, actually.
Until I find some alternative.
But this rainy/cold weather hasn't been agreeing with me recently.

I got it from JRP. $750 (plus tax). It's standard price, but since I got it from them, I didn't have to pay shipping.

I have other upgrades... >.>

And yeah, the color is pretty close from certain distances because it matches the grey and black on my car. But once you get outside, light or dark, the carbon fiber becomes very apparent. You just can't see well in photos taken in my underground lot. But it's too cold for me to go outside and randomly take pics with my phone...

Oh, and the fact that it's an evo-style hood changes the cars look significantly from stock... This is a base lancer...

Hood looks smoking. Only thing I am going to do to mine is put plastiDip over the grill to make it look perfect. other than that. its fine just the way it is. And with that Center diffuser you have on there. It completes the front end look.

Well, it's WAY lighter than a stock Lancer hood.
But I read on other forums that the aluminum hoods on Evo's and Ralliarts are actually half a pound lighter than carbon fiber ones!

It looks good! The mesh stands out so much tho.. Are you gonna use this in the winter time? I swap out the oem for winter coz i don't know how the clear coat will stand against the ice and more freezing ice lol (not on my x) if so, let us know how it stand against the Canadian winter!
