That's one thing that you're walking into when buying any of the lancer trims, including the evolution. Rattles in the interior are pretty bad in my lancer, and I know several who would agree with me. However, they're tolerable. I don't own an X nor do I pretend to but I've heard reliability is pretty good.

 

If you haven't driven one, that's really the first thing to do.
