Sailun Tire Testing 2011 (Mosport DDT)
Real Simple. Sailun wants to make their "GOOD" tires even better. This type of testing is directly connected to the factories that make and design the next generation of tire. There are 3 types of tests that we as a car club will be participating in.
1. Coke Vs. Pepsi Vs. Other STYLE TESTING
This style of testing will be real simple. you will be using your own car that is equipped with Tire A, B, and C. You will test each tire on the track and road course to get an idea of what its like. You will not know what each tire is until the testing if finished. Weather is not a factor in this test. Sailun wants to collect data regardless of the weather. If it rains, it will likely provide even more feedback from the driver in terms of control and tire feel.
Deposit fee for each event. likely to be 50 dollars or so. It will be refunded after the event is over. This way if people bail, sailun gets compensated for their time and effort.
2. Hard Track and Abuse Testing
There will be some RWD drifters that will be aiming to destroy these tires. In our case for the EVO, Semi Pro Drivers have been lined up. This is really only for advance drivers that have competition experience for the track. There is one or two more spots available for this. You will be provided wave after wave of tires to destroy in hard lapping either on the DDT or on the Big Track.
Reward, Be added in the credits for product testing and development, and destroy some rubber.
3. Long term testing
Tires and Rims will be provided to the owner. The driver will document and blog about their experience with the tire and be interviewed by Sailun regularly. At the end of the trial the tires and rims are returned. Also each participant is entered in a draw to win a free set of sailun winter tires or All Seasons.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dates
There will be multiple dates, likely to have them during the week. So you will have to use some of those sick days. Weekends are hard to come by for track stuff. But you get to walk away with some swag as well
I will announce the dates shortly
