I am not sure why this argument continues to go on for every item that is posted on the form. In the world, their is supply and demand. The price posted here by no means is out of this world and super expensive. That said, those involved that are contributing their time and effort and making this event happen deserve to be compensated for their time. For 250 dollars you get the coilovers you just bought installed. We make a meet out of it, have some food / BBQ, some chit chat, and have a good time. In the past, People tend to insinuate that the money is going to some currupt cause or money is being wasted. In this case, its paying for renting the garage / lift. and paying for a two man team that will install the coilovers.
Who is Jeff Pippy? An EVO X owner who has great experience with installs of the EVO 10, hell he even installed his own sponsored COSWORTH Cams. And he competes in a few of the Canadian time attack series. So I do have confidence in his ability and knowledge about the kit. And he can help assist everyone to properly setup their ride for either the track or daily driver. This is why I would prefer someone with experience with this specific product and car application to assist with the install. In a group install setting its a great way to learn more about suspension, ask and observe.
Laksman, I have been at JRP long enough to see incorrectly installed coilovers. you would think that they are the easiest thing in the world, but I have seen people install them upside down, or forget to secure a bolt. Here is a great example. http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/ontar...coilovers.html AWESOME
The thing that I love is, the kit took the abuse and still works today
Durable.
Getting back on topic. The reason why I have people consider this option is that if anything goes wrong, I know who was involved in the install and can remedy the situation quickly. But no where in this post am I forcing people to install coilovers with Pippy. If they wish to go somewhere else thats fine. There is a hand full of shops that will install the kit for you. Or you can do it yourself, there are good guides posted online for installing your own coilover kit.

Iceman/Allen has it on his car I'm pretty sure. I'm sure you can arrange to see it in person. (The Blue X with the quad projectors n stuff)
yes, i remember his car from last year meet.. it's quite quiet tho comparing to youtube videos lol... i'll check it out when his car is out from hibernation
To be honest Charles I'd say go with another brand. I wasn't too satisfied with the quality of my MXP testpipe. It cracked around the welds after 1 day at the track. Now I'm too lazy to mail it in for replacement lol

Meet at JRP will be something like April or May for a BBQ Kick off. prizes and a few TLC exclusive deals for EVO X and Lancer guys.
Question about MXP, We can get it yes. I personally dont have experience with them so I can provide oversight or feedback. But if its Mackin than we are talking about the same people that deal with Volk and Rays wheels. and the quality is good.
