So the winter thaw is soon to be here and the nice weather will soon follow. As some of you may remember, someone had hit my bumper on the side and in doing so also destroyed my OEM front air dams. Instead of going buying another air dam, I figured I'll get rid of the other one and replace them with a front skirt.

Are there any front skirts anyone recommends? Is there somewhere specific I can look for them? I've seen some ARS ones, but I'm not too sure on the quality nor am I really set on their looks. Any links, recommendations, name drops would help out . Thanks.

 

I usually dont knock companies too much. But if you do a search of ARS, you will generally see someone order a kit and put it on sale shortly after. The main reason is because its fiberglass. And Fiberglass is a real B*$#(# to work with. Labor cost will kill you.

That said there are some nice kits in development from Scorpion, including a pretty EVO X good conversion kit. lol some reports say the fenders are even wider than the EVO X haha Nice

In the mean time there isnt anything wrong with the Scorpion Vlip

 

the vlip is nice if you have air dams, I dont want to buy the air dams to buy the vlip. I want something to just replace the air dams.

By air dams I mean the gts skirt package thing (the little horns on the front left and right.

I am 95% that is probably an ARS kit or another copy, because the fitment on that looks a little loose.

Its the same lip thats on my car from HOS. sigh... its been beaten up over the past few years lol but still in one piece

 

evosoul, i've messaged you about the HOS a while back. Is there any news on it? Can I order one in? If so how and where?

I looked up the HOS front lip on google, the picture was the same as the ARS one lol. weird.

 

HOS created it, and others copied, and the rest is history. HOS only makes stuff in FRP or ABS. they would never make anything in fiberglass. they see it as inferior grade material because of the the deviation that can occur. HOS I think no longer makes this kit because its been copied so much that the quality of those hitting the market were negatively impacting the high end image of HOS. They still make it if there is an order, but dont expect to them to cut it in half like what ARS does or to make it for cheap in fiberglass. HOS then went on to make the Urban Lip for the Ralliart which ARS thankfully didnt copy.

Its easy to tell the copies from the real ones. Copies will have pretty sizable gaps between the bumper and the lip. Like in that picture of the white lancer with the front end. a HOS kit would never have that gap. The owner of HOS is militant on quality and will have the worker executed for such things. (joking, but kinda serious too. ) lol

evo soul, do u know if scorpion makes kits that replace the air dams? I saw a few in their website galleries, but thats the most confusing "catalogue" i've ever seen in my life lol. I saw a few that looked like they'd be a front skirt, but then again they could just be the vlip, really hard to tell from their pictures lol. I know you work with/know them so let me know if you can find out for me or if you could perhaps recommend anyone that would sell the air dam replacement, so i dont have to pay 500 to the dealership for 1 freakin airdam.

Last year Scorpion and HOS came over from Singapore / Malaysia to show case some of their items at the MOD. After seeing all the energy there from owners. It pumped them up and they are really stepping up their game. With 6 new body kit styles in development. Its going to be high times for the Lancer / Ralliart / EVO X

Time will tell how long it will take them to set up shop. But they have a few partners already in California, florida, and P.R.

Who knows, they might even open up in Pacific mall haha

Anyone deal with him or know anyone who has dealt with him? I'm trying to replace my broken air dam and this is the only guy I could find and the best part is it's pretty much local, just need an idea on fitment and service.
