Uggh...I'd love a $600 service. My 96K was $1500.

To answer your question: No. As long as the work is done by a certified mechanic, and you keep all documentation of the work done, and receipts. It is your right as a vehicle owner to get service done wherever, and as long as it was done by a certified mechanic, using OEM or equivalent parts, it cannot affect your warranty, by law. the dealer cannot ever force you to get work done at the dealer, under threat of your warranty.

I just got my 50k CVT transmission fluid changed at Markham Mitsubishi, came out to just over $200 w/ taxes. Only reason I brought it to the dealership is because after calling around, no shops seemed to have the specific fluid for the CVT tranny. The rest of the services at 50k required can be done at any reputable shop for less, just keep your receipts and warranty will be fine.

last service was a little over $1300 at Maple Mitsu. The Type D one (48,000 kms). Great service, i'm going to try to go there for everything now. I actually like that one service department out of all mitsu stealerships.

As others have said... you are not required to have service done at a dealership... as long as you keep your receipts as proof that the work was done. That being said tho... there's "theory" and then there's "real life"... and personally I goto the dealership because it just makes it easier for warranty claims if you have a relationship with the dealer.

For you guys that are doing $1,300 services at 48K.... what in the world are you paying for?!?!? I swear I got quotes in the region of $600-700.

We NEED an insider in the dealerships again. Anybody want to start working for Mitsu and give us some "assistance"? lol

Just get the stuff you need done like oil / trans etc. Half the crap on there is stuff you can do or doesnt even count as you have aftermarket parts on.

I doubt the technican even looks at all those points.

Redline CVT (Belt Type) fluid is all you need. That way your putting in performance fluid from the start. And likely can push your service interval longer.

Personally I think the Severe interval is B.S. because Buffalo has the same weather as we do and are allowed to go longer for their oil and tranny services.
