Don't Pump Gas on April 15th

Not sure if any of you have received this email yet but I thought It might be a good idea to post it here. I'm personally sick of paying an arm and a leg at the pump.

Don't Pump Gas on April 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas
prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On April 15th 2011, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $1.25 a liter in most places.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000
000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just
one day, so please do not go to the gas station on April 15th and let's try
to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I can't see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your
contact list. With it saying, "Don't pump gas on April 15th"

That does NOTHING to the gas prices.. What you dont buy on the 15th they get you for on the 16th and if it really had any effect they would jack price on 16th-20th .50 more and really screw everyone..

I'm as pissed off as the next guy when it comes to gas prices...they seem to raise prices for any random reason. "I farted so gas prices need to go up..."

But these "no gas buying days" don't really work because if you don't buy that day you'll just buy it the day after. The only way to make a difference is if people DON'T CONSUME GAS that day. Any gas you don't use is gas you don't buy and thus money they don't get. But I doubt everybody is gonna stay home on April 15th. lol

Thumbs down

lol, if your trying to bring down the value of crude oil, you need to start innovating a procduct to take its place. Not protesting something of value greater then lives. If you google how many ways oil is being used in every sec of our lives, you can see why its such a high demand. So high that countrys are invading others for it...

only problem doing this is that no1 will get it on the 15th.....but then EVERYONE will fill up a day or two later, increasing their profits 10x anyways.

we may as well just block the tankers from filling the stations and not allow anyone profit for the day, thats the best way to screw them

LOL, Americans should not even complain about gas prices. I filled up my civic for 40 bucks EVEN! You guys pay less than a buck/L. I won't fill up for this day though

You hit the nail on the head.. we drive the biggest gas guzzling SUVs and complain about gas.. instead of buying a new ipad everyone could afford the 1.00/gal more for the whole year if they had a car with decent fuel economy..
