So... I want to debadge the car..

So after putting on my redding out my emblems on the front and pack.. decided that I want to debadge the 'Mitsubishi' and 'Lancer' badges from the trunk.

I've read around on how to do it but I'm kind of in a special situation..

I don't really have a means of getting a hairdryer/heatgun/any heat source to where my trunk is. I park in an underground parkade with no outlet in sight...

Anybody have any ideas or experience with debadging without a heat source? Or anybody around in the KW area wanna let me use their driveway/garage for 30 minutes? XD

you really don't need a heating source.
you can just park your car outside and let it sit in the sun for 20 mins and take some floss and slide it right off
did mine at my work parking lot without any problems

Oh thats a good idea. I'll give that a shot tomorrow!

Did you need any goo-gone or something to get any excess residue off?

nope..no need for goo gone.
i mean you could use it if you wanted to but there really wouldn't be enough residual left on it.
just use some soap and water and wax afterwards to clean off anything left over

I found it easier going from the side instead of top down

Just curious, how long did you have your car before debadge?

I'm wondering if I'll have paint difference from sun exposure.

pretty sure I'm one of the worst people to ask this question considering my car stays in the garage all day so I get very little sun exposure

but I took it off within 3 months? would have done it sooner but always forgot about it
I really doubt there will be any paint difference. It's not like you'll be able to see the words mitsu outlined on your trunk

Did the same here. Just use floss they give you from your dentist and sway back and forth behind the badge and it'll cut that stuff that sticks it on right off!

The slower part is peeling away the residue left over, but no problems even with your fingers.

Debadged mine 10,000km down the line, no difference in color. I drive a black car.
