Ok. Sailun winter tires short initial Impression.

Whoa are these soft. Don't try any emergency Manouvers, they are so soft the car drives like a Cadillac. This is an attribute in the super cold and snow condition but in warmer weather they are not confidence inspiring.

Sound wise they are as quiet as the stock dunlops, a touch more noise during hi speed highway cruising.

Tread, nice agressive tread pattern. Should disperse snow easily and probably will perform nice in the rain.

All for now. Will update with snow and Ice results when the weather permits.

Nice update. I had the impression that it would be soft with anything over 5 degrees, but they are good winters

The all season is very similar being soft n rolling over on itself when braking hard in the Evo. They are as noisy tho really I'm surprised thought b quieter. Oh well not like your racing during winter they are just regular winters right not a performance winter

Let us know how they do on snow/slush see what ya think then should be good

but theres also alot of sidewall flexing. steering response is horrible and it feels like im steering a boat. but i hope it makes up for it in the snow

Do your sidewalls still feel soft when the temperature drops to around 0 degree celsius?

I've used winter tires that feel soft at like 12 degree... but in near freezing temperatures the sidewalls feel good.

From the feedback so far I am pretty happy I decided to just stick with my old Toyo's. These things don't feel soft even with the recent heat waves we have been getting. (Curse you snow WHERE IS YOU)

I've got the general altimax arctic tires. they feel so soft and the car sways too much.
is it the same tire pressure for winter tires or is there a recommended psi level?

Well I had a chance to compare my Sailuns to the Pirelli SotoZero.................................

No comparison. LOL its like comparing a UFC fighter to the retarded cage match fighter....................... you just know the guy picking his nose is gonna get their asses kicked.

Ya the SotoZero felt amazing, responsive and sticky..........the sailun had zero of those qualities other then the price. I was gonna get a set for my father for his Caddy but we decided to go with Continental winters from Consumer Tire.

Sorry Sailun, you guys just need some work in the "how not to be full retard" department, cause once you go full retard, you never go back.

No all kidding aside, price is the only thing decent on the sailuns. Still waiting for the snow and ice testing, but so far the drive-ability is sub-par.

Ok snow test.

Sailuns do pretty good in the wet slushy stuff. Drove the car around for a bit the other day. Through slushy streets and empty parking lots. Under normal driving the tires do pretty well. The wet stuff does not seem to bother them. However full dry snow the car tends to easily loose grip and start pushing or kicking out depending on the throttle input.

The side wall even in low temps is still incredibly soft. I have tried 32psi, 35psi and 38psi and slightly improved at 38 but not enough to get rid of that wallowy feeling.

I may do a longer trip to new York next few weeks for some mountain time. Will report back then.
